I am only making this post in attempt to connect with the previous owner of the Shinka I purchased a little while ago. Any help from the community would be much appreciated.

*story time*

I was cleaning out my glove box the other day when I noticed there was an old insurance/tag registration envelope that was never removed from the car prior to me purchasing it. Along with the envelope was the original window sticker and MSRP for the Shinka when it was delivered in 2006. For personal and privacy reasons I will not say the name (first or last) that was on the old registration, but I would like to possibly connect with the owner if he is on this forum still.

The information that I can share is that the RX-8 is an 06 Shinka (Copper Red) and it had its engine (short block) replaced ~58k miles with the previous owner. I know the owner lived in Kentucky and you also left the dealership card inside the car where you purchased the car from, who I called and they confirmed that the car had been at their dealership around that time to have the engine replaced. They also confirmed that you did regular maintenance on the car with them.

I can also share that under your ownership, the car was involved in a rear collision and the right side of the rear bumper was damaged and was fixed (poorly). If I had to guess, I would say most of the back end of the car was repainted because the mica does not 100% match the front in most area. I can tell the previous owner also lived on or near a dirt/gravel road because the front paint on the car is pitted from gravel quite a bit.

The main highlight, and piece that should help the most is that there was quite a bit of mice damage under the hood of the car. My guess is the previous owner lived on a barn or out in the country areas of Kentucky because after buying the car I noticed that there was quite a bit of mice crap and wires chewed all over the car, Most of which I have replaced by now. Also, the passenger side sun vizor was missing when I purchased the car.

What I can tell you (the previous owner) is that your Shinka somehow made it all the way to Columbus, Ohio in May of 2013 after you had sold it. The car came into my possession in July of that year and I have owned it since. She is running strong and I have taken good care of her. If you are on this forum then I would love to connect with you and get a little more information about the car when you owned it. Please feel free to PM me with anything or any leads on how I might be able to find the first owner of my car.
