Fall outing is on!

keynote is also promoting this event through his club. We can probably accomodate up to 20 or so people for the dinner portion.

Here is the info on the Fall event with a tenative schedule for Saturday October 23rd.

Meet at Greenwood Park Mall on Sat. Afternoon 2:30.
Caravan down 135 to Nashville, IN.
Arrive Nashville 3:30.
Spend two hours in Nashville, shop, browse, have a drink, whatever.
Depart Nashville for Story Inn, 5:30.
Arrive Story Inn. 6:00 PM for dinner.
Return to Indy or your final destination at your leisure.

The drive is excellent and the Story Inn is very quaint, moderately upscale and has quite a "story" in itself.

We need to make reservations for dinner. My guess is that they can accomodate a group of up to about 20 people but reservations will be required. If you have interest please contact me by private message or reply to this thread and I will confirm you on the list.

Here is some more detailed information on the Indy Outing including route map and meeting place.

So far we have about 14 people confirmed.

We will meet at Greenwood Park Mall (SW corner) near Chi-Chi's. This is the west side of the mall along US 31. (see graphic below)

Well we are still about 14-15 confirmed with 9 or possibly 10 cars. I spoke with Rick, owner of the Story Inn and he is of course thrilled about us coming down. He said no problem to accomodat up to 20 people for dinner. He is going to arrange a special place (near the barn??) to park where we can line up all the cars and take pictures if it is not too dark by the time we get there at 6ish. We can always take some pics at the mall or in Nashville as well.

They are calling for rain Saturday AM, hopefully it will clear up in the afternoon, you never know in Indiana though.

Weather Forecast
Saturday: Morning showers and thunderstorms, windy. Highs in the upper 60s and lows in the low 40s.

Things to consider bringing: camera, video camera, two way radios.

We started out with rain and drizzle on Saturday morning which continued into Saturday afternoon and caused a few not to show up. Michael showed up with his unique and near mint 1988 10th Anniversary Edition, a real beauty if you have not seen it, Bruce (and Debbie) with his really nicely kept silver FD, Alex (and Jen and baby) with his Titanium '04 RX-8 and me (and Cindy) of course with the Velocity Red RX-8. Manny and Ben both showed up to wish us well and send us off, thanks guys! About half way to Nashville the rain stopped and by the time we got there, we were without rain. We tasted some wine, browsed a few stores, saw some really cool holograms as the hologram museum while trading stories, ideas, thoughts and experiences with our rotary vehicles. The drive from Nashville to Story is very spririted and everyone enjoyed the hills and twisties! We had a nice dinner and everyone departed full and satisfied for their trip back to Indy or final destination. Alex and I took the same route and I was thankful for both good brakes and quick reaction when a deer crossed in front of a caddy that I had been following on 135 out of Nashville. The caddy saw it before I did because he was blocking my view so I had to stop rather abruptly, a brief tense moment. On the way back we again encountered more rain, but overall it never served to dampen our spirits or impact our time in Nashville and Story. I took a few snapshots...
