Cruise Route
Well, I spent my 4th of July afternoon cruising everywhere south of Indy to find a kick *** route for our cruise on Saturday. Here's how it will go:
Meet at 10:00 AM in the Southport Meijer Parking lot, (Exit 103 on I-65)
Plan on grabbing a bite to eat before you get there, and refuel at the Meijer Gas Station so we can take off around 10:00 AM.
Our route will take us over some of the "twistiest" roads around, several have no gaurdrails and I have to say, I almost lost it once taking one a little too fast... SO... I AM NOT RESONSIBLE FOR RECKLESS DRIVERS! lol... There are a few nice and long straightaways so we can floor it but this route was thought out for the RX-8... LOTS OF CURVES!
We will end up at Paynetown Recreational Park on Monroe Lake...or Lake Monroe...whatever its called... I checked the place out, and there are lots of picnic tables, grills, ... a place for all our cars to be parked and look nice...lol a beach... and best of all we can drink there too =)
I have the route all planned out, but they are too large to post on here. Email me at flyboyindy@aol.com if you want a copy.
Road Time: 3 Hours
Actual Time with Bathroom/Fuel Break 3.5 Hours
Trip Miles: 97 ( does not include trip back from Monroe Lake)
Trip back to Indy: Approximately 1 Hour 15 Minutes
So the next step will be to get a list of CONFIRMED people that are going on the trip. We will need to all "pitch in" on the food and beverage. We will need a few coolers, which shouldnt be a problem, just fitting them in an 8 will be hard... I know we have Marcelo's Mazda 6 going =) So maybe that can be our cargo ship! If not we are "f*cked"... Grayghost has a trailer hitch on his though...
Ill bring burgers and brats and the first case of beer ...... We will need volunteers for :
** Charcoal & Lighter Fluid
** Hamburger & Brat Buns
** Side Salads
** Chips
** Paper Plates, Plasticware, Napkins
** Pop
** Ice... Lots and Lots =)
** Dessert
Am I leaving anything out? I have two large coolers...and if anyone has some smaller ones for your own "stash" of drinks....
Oh yeah... This is a family affair, so feel free to bring whomever you want =) We just have to keep it clean around the kids... So no making fun of non rotaries or cussing... lol... well, ill try
Ok , so anyone that is interested in going, email me at flyboyindy@aol.com or call me at 317-850-7318.
Later guys... Frank

Hey guys I'm moving to Indy this August!
I hope you guys will be havin another get together soon.
Is your get together still happening on the 9th? If so I might be able to swing down since I'm going to Chi-town this weekend then possibly Indy to look for a place to live.
One question, where's a good place to get stuff installed. I'm planning to get the RB suspension for my 8 and I want someone reputable to install it.
Thanks
Kevin

Sounds good! A couple of updates:
1) I may be driving an RX8 and not my Mazda6 this weekend. I found a spotless 2004. If it passes the tech inspection tomorrow morning it is mine baby!
2) Kevin, AIM Tuning (http://www.aimtuning.com) specializes in rotary engines. They can install the RB for you. When you call, ask for Shane. He is the owner.

Ok...seems like im doing most of the posting for this thread...but Saturdays weather looks like its going to be Sunny and 85 degrees! No chance of a rain out.... If you guys want we can finish the cruise up at a Restaurant in Bloomington.... but my vote would be the cookout at the beach =) just my 2 cents
Sorry for being gone. Well it is official. I finalized my trade in yesterday. The titanium gray 2004 RX8 is mine now. The tech inspection went well yesterday. You can read more here:

Frank, thanks for all your work on this!
I agree with the Monroe idea and a cookout at the beach, do they have grills there or do we need to bring? I can bring charcoal and buns and we do need a count for this. Weather looks great.
Everyone should also bring a two way radio if possible.
