If you guys are selling or know of these parts, throw me a bone and hook me up with the contact?

NEED
Upgraded Starter Motor
New-ish Alternator (less than 80k)
All new electrical wires and connectors (aftermarket preferred)
OEM Suspension OR R3 Suspension OR...
Aftermarket suspension
R3 OR 40th Anniversary Wheels OR 2004 GTs but Powdercoated (my RPF1s are bent)

WANT
Mazdaspeed rear strut bar
underbody braces (any)
aftermarket belts and pulleys
Petit SC
Mazdaspeed Front strut bar or custom (if SC)
Decent aftermarket hood option like the old Viper style, but less aggressive

Any ideas/feedback welcome.

@MIGHunter:

I run 5W30. I also run synthetic, which is contrary to what a lot of established folks say. I run Idemitsu premix in the tank but I'd like to move to Sohn Adapter.

I highly recommend you get one of those. It lets you put 2 stroke oil in the engine → Epitroch Ebay Store

Also, check out this thread for more info → New Member Oil Thread.

I love a local-ish place. What's the skinny?

Are these folks friends of yours? Have you used them before? I checked their site; they seem to have a lot of quality brands in their catalog. Do they pretty much try to proc whatever you order? Danke.

They are in the Beech Grove area and are the only import performance parts dealer in Indianapolis. They are easy to deal with as well. They will match prices as well.

Thanks for the help. I read that thread a couple of times and left it just as confused as I was when I started, lol. I ended up getting some Castrol Titanium High performance 5w20 Synthetic. Hope it's good.

I use conventional oil and mix Valvoline 2 stroke into my fuel. My 8 runs like **** without 2 stroke.

You probably have some other issues if your car runs like **** without 2 stroke oil.

From 'close-ish' to Indiana - but my car runs a LOT better on the 2-stroke oil. Whatever issues it may have, that oil makes a noticable difference in how smooth the car runs. I use it every-other-fill up, and before every hard-driving event.

side note - am interested in driving the Dragon next month if any Indiana folks want to tag along. Will be a three-day-weekend type trip - 9.5 hours or so from my house to Deal's Gap.

New Indy RX8

I am in Carmel and just bought an 09 RX8. I'm looking for a local club/group and meet-ups.

Yeah. The car should not run like **** without 2 stroke or premix in the fuel.

That said, I did throw a Sohn adapter on my car and it has started to run a lot cooler. Which is awesome for the seals! Yay.

Also, @Doz4 that is such a fantastic price on that car. I think I saw that same car down in Bloomington in some used car lot? Was it sold?

Who would you guys tout as the better people to work on our 8s? I am thinking about doing some stuff this year after winter, engine, air, power upgrades and new pain.

I've been liking at banzai racing but they are 3.5 hours north of me.

IDK yet. I think I need some work done, trying to figure out who to go to for the long term. I love this car.

One issue I am having is take off. Sometimes it's like I have no power and then once I hit 4k RPM, it surges forward. I thought it was a misfire but I read in another thread that it might be the clutch plate.

Eventually, I'd like to have some body work done, small dent in the front bumber and a scrape down the drivers side and get a repaint.

You own a shop or just do work on 8s?

Just work on them in general as I have a good garage. I've also lightly prepped a few for autox. Bodywork is a bit beyond my capability, but most everything else I can do.

Very cool. 1st think on my list is installing som BHR coils, wires and plugs. After that I want to look at the clutch and fly wheel. Then maybe the cooling system. From there some performance mods.

Sounds good. Any of that i could do, and for a lot less than Bonzai I bet.

@MIGHunter if you have some sockets you can probably do the BHR coil upgrade yourself. It's not a difficult install.

The clutch work will require the engine to be removed. If you're going to do that, I highly recommend you up the radiator/cooling system then, as you'll have to drain the block anyway.

Also, I'm in Btown so if you need a hand with the coil install, let me know. I did the install on my car.

Good to know. I'm on the east side of Bloomington. Been in town on and off since 85. How about you?
