OK i was mistaken ... its not $150, it's only $120!!! Here is the link. Tho sadly, my headunit's firmware is 9.53 and it requires 9.55. I'll have to do some more researching to find out if I can get my firmware upgraded.

Hell, I'm still trying to get the NAV firmware upgrade disc that was supposedly going to be sent to me from Mazda. Anyone gotten the disc yet?

You can have my Nav upgrade disc... I had downloaded it from a friend a few months ago and burned my own, then the official Mazda upgrade showed up in the mail back in November I think (not that I need either copy since it's a one time firmware upgrade). I just need to find it and get your address from you (unless you are ever in the woodfield area during the week).

Also- what's your 8's build date? Mine is a somewhat early build (9/03) and I have the 9.55 HU firmware... I thought yours was fairly new?

 

my car goes to the dr. on tuesday for some recall work....first time it goes in...i hope they dont say anything about what they see lol

 

I can host the file for everyone to download if you want to give me an ISO image.

RSD- do you have a DVD burner on your PC?

 

Alas, I have satellite radio, and this unit uses the same connection, so it's one or the other. Have to check the new Dension unit. Oh well, I guess Eeyor will continue to look and hope and be disappointed. Thanks anyway.

 

no dvd burner, but i can strong arm someone to do it for me also, ill be up in your area feb 7th... i have a haircut in buffalo grove then (yes, i drive an hour to get my hair cut!!!)

I have a DVD burner. I could take care of it. Is it DVD+R or DVD-R.

 

thanks g8r and al, i called mazda a little while ago and they are mailing one out to me today. they also told me theyd send the roadside assistance brochure too.

i had no idea (seeing as how i bought the car used) that we got free roadside assistance under warranty! she also said id have to talk to my local dealership about upgrading my HU firmware in my radio ... that sounds like a NO! but we'll see.

Also, i went thru the first post of our events and cleaned it all up. hopefully it is easier to read now and has all the pertinent info that anyone would need. as always, just let me know if there are any events you want me to list. oh btw, i leave the events as PROPOSED until i have a time for people to meet up, then they get changed to SCHEDULED.
