I be not making it I dont have car, do to front right passenger side strut leaking, but it looks like it blew up. And car is in dealer.

I can't make it Thursday. I work, but if anyone wants to meet up with me at the Streets of Woodfield tomorrow let me know. It's gonna be real nice out!!! Sorry for the late notice as well. I didn't think it was gonna be this nice out.

I am going to try and make it as well. I'm a new RX-8 owner and new RX8Club member. And maybe a new EVOLV-Chicago member? Do your meets include dinner or should I eat first? Do you go for a drive? Sorry for the lame questions but I'm new to forums and I do not know what PM is, and its too late to try and figure it out. Hope to see you there. It looks like I'll be the other Shinka.

 

the meets normally will include some type of food, and there is usually a cruise afterwards....nice to have you on board!

Your questions are not lame! I bet there are more people out there who have thought the same thing! So, here is my lame attempt at describing a meet and our club:

EVOLV Meet Info

Meet Locations: Meets are set whenever someone throws a date/time out to have a meet in this thread (or they can PM it to me). No meets by your house? Go ahead and set one up. This is a group effort, I am not the leader, I just organize people. I don't set rules or make decisions about the group without group input.

Meets: First one there generally gets to decide where we park. Just look for an area where we can fit a handful of cars without anyone getting door dings by the public. If we have dedicated this meet as a photo meet (Racewar is our fab photographer), he will probably ask us to move into certain positions to get the best shots.

What we do: HAHA! This one is a good one. Usually we talk 8 for awhile out by the cars (until we get too cold), then we'll head inside somewhere. I think our track record has shown we usually get some kind of food. And if b4tm4n is there, he'll always suggest Starbucks if there's one within 50 miles (j/k). Sometimes we go on a cruise afterward, sometimes we don't. Sometimes people will caravan to/from the meets.

All in all, this really is a very flexible group. If you ever have questions/concerns/etc I'd suggest taking them up with the particular member you may have those issues with. If that doesn't apply, you can talk to me about issues (ie where to buy, good resources, who autox's etc) and I'll hopefully be able to direct you to a good source. This group is a wonderful resource for real-life learning about your car. We have all sorts of enthusiasts: track, autocross, appearance, how stuff works, mods, performance, etc. And everyone is really friendly too, so no question is silly. (well, if there's a silly question, I will probably be the one to ask it!!)

Nah money has just been tight and my transmission was having all kinds of issues. So my car was at the dealer for quite a while. They had to take the whole tranny apart and replace the shifter fork. Even though the part would have only been $130 the labor was $600. Thank goodness for warrenty.

 

Yea, we prefer to have our doors dinged by other club members.
