Chicago July 15,16,17
Hey everyone in Chicago area! I am heading up that way when the Cubs play the Pirates to watch the Saturday and Sunday games. However, my buddy and I don't know our way around much except for Wrigleyville. Maybe we can plan a get together for Friday evening or Saturday after the game. Definitely want to check out the party/bar scene. Maybe a group of you 8 owners up in Chicago can show a fellow 8er around? Let me know.
Thanks guys and girls!

Hey Mr Baseball,
Sorry no one responded. I'm not gonna be in town that weekend, but can give you some places to go (and not go!) if you're interested...

Here are a couple places to try (I've included websites when possible):
- Lou Malnati's Pizza, the best in the world! Don't fall for that Uno's or Giordano's crap. Get the stuffed pizza and find out why Chicago makes the best pie ever. Go Lou! www.loumalnatis.com (The Lincoln Park location is closest to Wrigley, River North location is closer to the Loop)
- Margie's Candies (a real old-fashioned soda fountain) www.margiescandies.com
- The Signature Lounge on the 96th Floor of the Hancock Bldg has great views, pricey drinks, but well worth it! Better than anything in the Sears tower. www.signatureroom.com
- Hit Lake Shore Drive for a sweet cruise up the shore. It's great late at night, but bring your radar detector. It's the only place outside of a highway where you'll have a chance of getting out of 3rd gear!
- Cubs game (Go Cubbies!) I found the best place to park my baby was at a lot on the northeast corner of the stadium (Sheffield & Waveland). It's worth the $20, or they can direct you to an Easy-Out lot in the area too for a little more. I slipped her an extra $10 and she gave me rockstar parking with an easy out right there on the corner. FYI, little known fact--I think they open up more tickets to games on game day. I recently got the best tickets I've ever had by buying them online the same day. Sat 12 rows up from 1st base. Fantastic seats! www.cubs.com
- Bars: Duffys & McGees usually have good cover bands on the weekends (any of the bars at www.bar1events.com are good). Parking can be a nightmare, so take a cab once you get the 8 parked. Stop in at Yakzies on Clark (just west of Wrigley) and say hi to Jimmy, tell him Spitfire sent you! Try the Cubbiebear for a good band, John Barleycorn for the second floor dancing, The Green Mill for jazz, metromix.com has a lot of info too.
That should keep you busy and driving! :D Let me know if you have any questions...

Thanks a lot SheDevil. That really helps me out a ton. If anyone else has any other suggestions, I am definitely open to hearing them. I just can't wait to get up there, sounds like it is going to be fun.
