Chicago 7/7/07 meet/bbq/drive

So since there isn't much going on in the way of action to get something going in celebration of this wonderful date here is the deal....Since I am new to the area I need suggestions from everyone here on where to hold this, a park you like, a FP with PLENTY of legal parking blah blah blah. On Friday or Saturday we'll make up the final meet/bbq point, and if people post an opinion on a drive destination we'll determine that too. So post up where you think would be a good location and a good drive destination.

This will also be an informal meet no big sponsorship, no free food. So this will be BYO_______ but bring your own with the intention of sharing. We'll have a sign up list of who is bringing what so we don't have 10 people show up egg salad and one guy show up a 2 liter of soda.

So any way post up!!!

Busse Woods on Higgins right by Streets of Woodfield, very nice big open lots, we can call ahead to make sure everything is cool with the police, and we can cruise down to the city by lakeshore drive and lower wacker and all of that good stuff.

Yeah I personally drove on it, its a decent route, there was alot of cars with us, its not that long though, we drove it probably 4 or 5 times, I think going on a long, scenic cruise would be better.

I am also up for a scenic drive, I just don't know where to take the group to go on one. I would like to do starved rock how does that sound to everyone?

Also I was thinking about an early start time around 11-12 or so for the BBQ. Opinions?

On RC3 someone posted that parking at starved rock has gotten bad. I wouldn't know, I haven't been out there in probably 25 years.

I was thinking starved rock more for the drive, but then again it's the only IL destination that I have been to.
