Chicago 7/7/07 BBQ "Official"

Who: Any and all car enthusiasts
What: A BBQ duh!
When: Come on!
Where: Deer Grove Forest Preserve, Shelter #4 @ 11:00am
Why: Because

Mapquest shot

Forst Preserve map

We'll get cooking sometime after 11:00am, and we'll go till whenever. This is pot luck style so sign up to bring stuff. And Joe (Ranchan02) know of a nice scenic road in the area for the drive later on.

If you need to mapquest directions, mapquest likes "Deer Grove Lake"

Do you have this cleared with the forest preserve folks? Just wondering because we ran into a few problems last year (as I'm guessing you already know).

By the way, thanks for taking the time to plan this!

Yes we have a permit, and a shelter/grove reserved.

Are you coming?

We had it "cleared" with DuPage county last year. I got the permit. If you aren't legal, you could get a ticket at anytime. Not just at a park.

I'm sure we will be there for quite a while after that. You should come out when you get off.

Well, can I bring someone with? Cause going to meet a bunch of people I don't know is a little terrifying. And since I'd be atleast 4 hours late what would I bring?

How do you want us to annotate if we are bringing someone, ie a spouse? Perhaps put "and guest"?

I am putting my name on the list but I am not sure if I can make it. As some of you may now my wife is pregnant, she has been having a rough time with morning sickness which for her lasts all day. She said we can go but it all depends how she feels that morning.

So, assuming everyone brings their S.O. / Spouse, we only have 18 people comming.
Thats a shame.

I'm going with a guest. But I won't be able to make it until around 4ish probably. Because I get off work at 3pm. I don't know what you'd need me to bring since you'll probably have already eaten. So, let me know what and if you want me to bring something.

D'oh! I would SO love to come and meet some of you Chicagoland RX8 owners! I'm up from Atlanta on the 7th (driving all day, coming in late) and will be up to close on the new house. I'm moving the truck and gear up on the 22nd, so... crapola.

Hopefully I can meet up with you guys next time? Next place?

We have monthly meets switching off between Aurora and Downers Grove, you can always make it to one or all of those

Check this thread:

https://www.rx8club.com/mw-rx-8-forum-31/evolv-chicago-meets-here-69062/

and post or say hi in there, RSD will get you on the mailing list if you aren't already.

I just noticed this is cook county, not dupage county like last year.

Perhaps RSD can show up without fear?
