Congrats on your new 8 Mad Pole! If you dont find anything local - feel free to check us out at the Indiana Club... Louisville while a bit away, isnt too far and a nice cruze to come up occasionally and join us for some events www.indyrx8club.com

How are you liking you're 8 so far??

I know there's more of us out there. I'd like to get a group of us together, as informal as it can be. If you see anybody out there, point them to the site.

A club would be great if there's enough interest.

Another 8 owner (black)

It would be fun to have something informal going.
I'm a lousy clutch driver, still but we all have to start somewhere.
Ill checkout the indy club.

I'm in Louisville as well (J-town).. I'v only seen maybe 2 or 3 RX8's in the area..

What dealership do you guys goto for service? Oxmoor or Dixie Highway? I need to take my car in and find out the status on the recalls.. I bought it used and I'm not sure if the recall work has been performed or not.

Thanks

I've had very good luck at Oxmoor. I bought my 8 used in Lexington. Oxmoor recently sent me a postcard for a free safety check, recall background check and an oil change for $9.95

I've seen two other 8's at UPS. One's a new Shinka.

There's a couple of black 8's in the area. One with a Purdue license plate.

There's two blue 8's in the Highview/Okalona area. One with a UofL plate.

Mine's velocity red with UofL plates.

What are you guys doing about snow? Are you swapping out tires? I personally don't think it snows enough but you never know around here. Some winters we will barely have any snow.. Other winters you can't go anywhere.

I'll probably just wing it and get a ride if it snows.. I just can't justify the $1000.00+ right now.. Especially since I just bought the car..

Hi everyone. I am a new owner also. I purchased a Black Cherry 2005 shinka 6mt from Missouri. I am in the Ferncreek area. I also haven't seen many around. One since I have owned it for about a month and a half. I dont think there is an active club in Louisville but I know there is one in Indianapolis.

BTW I just had my vehichle in for 30k service and some warranty work at Oxmoor Mazda. Joe and Matt are very cool guys especially to an old man like me who knows very little about the rotary. I think it was Matt's rx8 they let me look at and were getting ready to install NO2 in it. They are also mazdaspeed certified. I dont know how the dealership is on Dixie Highway, but by the way I was treated at Oxmoor, I would highly recommend them. Great Service.

I also was looking at the snow tire thing and after getting the prices decided not to do it. I know this if it snows or is icy with the KDW2 on this car, I will be driving the Prius unless I want to do 360's down the Gene Synder. LOL

I am also interested in maybe getting together for a fun run or something say maybe Hooters. It would look very awesome with all our 8's in the parking lot.

Let me know and if interested I can PM anyone with my number. Take care and it is good to see at least of few of us in the area.

I just had my recall done at Oxmoor Mazda. I wasn't impressed with their service.. But the car seems to be running fine, so I guess everything went well.

They pretty much just gave me my paperwork to sign, I signed it and left. I tried to ask questions but their answers were vague and rushed. I kind of got the "we don't have time to sit and talk" attitude.

But anyways, the car is running good and I guess thats what matters most

I'm down for a little mini meet sometime.. Sunday afternoons are best for me. Someone shoot out some dates and times and we'll get this thing going!

Thanks

How about January 14th at 1:00? Hooters, BW3 or any sports bar. What do you guys think? Good excuse to go grab a cold one.

Sounds good to me.. How about BW3's at Springhurst? We can then take a cruise down US 42 towards Westport. Good scenery that way.. Lots of horse farms and not much traffic! We just have to go real slow through prospect.. They'll pull you over for going 2 mph over the speed limit

I could do BW3's on January 14.

BTW FastBreak8, it is good of you to volunteer to be the chaser through Prospect. You could go 3 mph over and then Mad Pole and I can zoom-zoom through town. LOL

If this is a go, I will post a new thread Calling all Louisville 8's to see if we can get more.

Just let me know.

Its been awhile since I'v driven down to the Ft. Knox area. But if I can remember correctly, it should take you about 45 mins? Just shoot straight down the Gene Snyder freeway and get off on the westport road exit.
