NM RX-8 Around 50k miles and no more than $15k.

Hey, I know this section really is dead but its worth a shot as not much is turning up on craigslist and CarMax. The title really says it all; I'm in New Mexico and I am looking to purchase an RX-8 that is around 50k miles and no more than $15,000. I would prefer a color other than silver, but I will take anything I can get as the market certainly is not saturated with cars. If you're looking to sell just hit me up! Thanks.

Hello.
Are you willing to spend $15k on any model with less than 50k?
I bought a like new '04 LY GT with 18.5k over 2 1/2 years ago and didn't pay that much from a dealership.
I'd have to seriously consider an offer like that for mine (42k).

For that amount it would make more sense to buy a good conditon low millage car with a confirmed dead engine for ~$4k and install one of Pettit Racing's OTS engines for ~$5k, then proceed to mod the hell out of it.

Is your GT manual? And I know that it has such low mileage but don't you think 15k flat is a bit steep? In response to Legit where could I get the engine installed? From my understanding pettit won't do it themselves. Is installing the engine something I could handle? (Not much of a mechanic as you can probably tell)

Yeah, 6 speed.
Fully loaded, including spare tire kit, all black heated leather.
BHR ignition and midpipe, brand new Bridgestone Potenza AS tires.

$15k IS steep, I'm sure you could find one for much less, possibly with some warranty left.
Like I said, I paid less than that for it, but I'm not trying to sell it.

However, if someone offered me $15k, I'd seriously consider it.

I was wondering what you had in mind with that request, it was pretty vague, you didn't specify exactly what you were looking for.

Look for an 09 or newer model. You should be able to find one for that price (any number of miles would be better than a series 1 with 50k) you will have a superior engine and still be within the 8 year 100k warranty (which will get you a new engine for free if the car should need it).

Have you read the new owners thread?

In case you're not familiar with how much they were new, my sticker was over $35k in 2004.

+1^
Idk how knowledgeable you are about 8s, but be sure to get a rotary specific compression test before you buy any RX8, no matter how many miles are on it.

I've read the entire new owners thread and have done other outside research. I'm simply trying to explore all of my options as I really cant travel far to get the car so that leaves craigslist and carmax, however, to get a damn compression test on an 8 from car max you have to buy the car first, get the test, and return it if you do not like the results.
