As for a local RX7/general Rotary club, there used to be an RX7 club in Denver, but they seem to have died off. We threw around the idea of making the Rocky Mountain RX8 club a general rotary club, however, we already have a lot of members and for our first year, we didn't want to over burden ourselfs. In any case, you are always welcome to come to any of the meets/get togethers, etc. Please come sign up at our website and join in the discussions there as well.

Welcome, zmarko!

As Serff points out, we have not yet looked into setting up an RX-7 branch of our club, but we would LOVE to. All we gotta do is find some dynamic individual to make it happen. Know anyone? :D

I am a new owner too and obtained the car in late in September 2004. The car was built in June 04 so it should have all the recall stuff done. Had Burt Mazda order one out of Texas. Was worth the wait. Will not let this baby see the snow here in Colorado for sure. Not sure it will handle the white stuff anyway. Ours is an Auto and we are pleased with the car. I think this car is a keeper for sure. So for the end of September lets see what will happen in the Spring!!! Want to get fender strakes for this red beauty.

You're right to a point, it really depends on the rubber you have under the four corners. If you have the Potenzas, leave it in the garage when the snow flies, otherwise you'll be learning how to reset the CEL. (Trust me on this one!)

Oh Yah! There's a thread started on this here. And also on the Rocky Mountain Forum. Omicron has sent out a mass e-mailing about this to the registered members.

Hey all! Just got a shiny new toy. I haven't brought it out to Colorado yet because I'm a cadet at the Air Force Academy and I'm not allowed to have a car out here yet. I spend three tanks of gas in three days of Thanksgiving break... I love this car. I look forward to being active in the forums here. I've been surfing through them for about the past 6 months and just joined now that I have my car. Thanks!

[QUOTE=zmarko]Hey guys. Hope you don't mind me posting here. I signed up a few months back when I was doing some research on the RX8. I've actually been lurking on the board here for awhile, but signed up just for fun.

Anyway, I own a '93 RX7 R1. I'm going to be moving to Colorado probably in the spring of '05. Somewhere near Denver. I've been looking at the NW side of Denver (Longmont, Boulder), and the Fort Collins/Loveland area as well.

Did you ever end up moving to Denver? Do you still have your FD?

By the way, is there anyone on here that has most of the phone numbers for the RX-8 owners in Colorado? I would like to get as many rotary guys to our meet this summer. We don't have an exact date yet, but it will probably be on a Sunday in June. Parastie on the boards has all of the 2nd gen members, and I all of the 3rd Gen members phone numbers. We are still looking for someone that has 1st Gen and RX8 members contact info. We also would like to get other rotary vehicles to show as well. If you would like to be contacted...please email me at MichaelB145@aol.com and I will complile everyones name and number.

Hey mike, come over to http://rockymountainrx8.com and join the forums there. Either Omicron, Doc, or I could probably get you the info you want. I think you may want to come check out what we did last year though for our meet. We are again planning a meet for this June that may conflict with what ever you are planning. So please come on over to our webiste and post there about what you are planning and see if you get any takers there or not.

See ya there!

What's up guys...I'm wondering if you guys got anything set up yet. Most of us 3rd Gen guys are into drag racing, but would still like to meet up with all of the RX-8 guys. We are also thinking of getting a caravan together to drive out to the Rotory Revolution. If you have not been, its a freaking blast! It's the 3rd week of April. I will put out more info out later on it.

I went to SevenStock last year, does that count? :D

We're still working on the main meet and track day though. Keep an eye on the local club's website (click on the logo in my sig to get there) for updates.

My RX-8

Hey Guys -

I bought my RX-8 in March of 04. It's black, 6spd, and has the sport package on it. I bought it from Sil Ter Har Motors in broomfield, by the Target off of 120th. I love this car! I can't wait for racing season to start this year at bandimere, so i can see what times i can get this car to do. I'm very interested in joining a local colorado rx-8 club too, so i'll be sure to check out the Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club web site! I live in both Westminster and Morrison, and i've seen quite a few out there on the trip back and forth. I remember when i first bought the car I didn't see one on the road until i owned it for a good couple months! Good to see that more people are buying this great car and loving it!

I'm looking forward to joining your local club and meeting all of you! Until then, let the power of the rotory be with you

I too purchased mine at Sil Ter Har, but I found a used one. I work in Westminister, so you might see me around - silver GT with Kazera wheels ( for the winter). Unfortunately I do most of my (stop-and-go) driving on 287 between Westminister and Erie (home).

Hope to see you at the next RMRX8 Club meeting.

On my way back to Morrison today (Feb. 25) heading from Westminster I spotted a Red 8 in Arvada around the area of Wadsworth and Ralston at around 4:30pm. Was that any of you guys? I was driving mine at the time too - it's a black 8. I was just curious.

Might have been me. Can't remember exactly where I was on Fri., but I know I was driving around all day. I live in Superior. I just got my 8 last Tues (and love it, of course). Velocity Red, GT, appearance pkg, rear spoiler, accents, stock wheels... Is that what you saw?

I didn't really get a good look at it, but it could've been you. I'm pretty sure it had the appearence package on it, but i'm not really sure. It deffinatly had the stock rims though. I didn't even notice it was there until i passed it. (i was going south on wadsworth, and the RX-8 that i saw turned south onto wadsworth from the west side, somewhere around 62nd, i believe). There was a car dividing me from it, in the right lane. The red 8 turned a few blocks down and headed back west again. If that sounds like a familiar situation, and you remember seeing a stock black rx-8 with the sport package on it going south down wadsworth, one car in front of you, then it had to be you I don't know what it is about the car, but i still get excited every time i see one driving down the road, even though i own one myself :D

I've owned my Rx-8 since i got back from Iraq back in april 04. it's black- all options ( except the Gps). i recently added the MS front bumper and my own custom ram air. Im planning on buying the greddy turbo kit in about 3 months. im not sure yet whether to put it on myself or to have some shop around here do it. has anyone else bought the kit? or heard any good/bad news about it ? i'll try to add some pics of mine when i get a chance...do you guys ever get together for meets or anything?

Hey guys, over on the RX7club.com forum we decided to get a Rotary meet later this month. It will be held at Hamburger Stand on 3rd and Union at 6pm weather permitting. Afterwards everyone is going to cruise down to Denver Motorsports to meet up with the rest of the import crowd. We have a ton of 3rd Gen RX-7's and 2nd Gen RX-7's. Does anyone know all of the 1st gen guys or older rotarys (RX-3's, cosmo's, ect).

The rotary meet is scheduled for Sunday 3-27-05 at Hamburger Stand at 6pm. If weather is bad...plan on the following Sunday same time ect.
