ATTN: Utah Owners in or near Provo, UT

Hey! I was thinking about buying an rx8 from Naylor Auto, Inc. (located in Provo, UT) and driving it home to southern California. Has anyone had any experience with this company? Better yet, if anyone lives near this car lot, I have a favor to ask of you which is to check out the car before I fly up there. Let me know if anyone is interested! Thanks

ToothFairy, are you looking at a new or used 8?

The only Mazda dealer in that area is Legacy Mazda in Orem (just a few miles from Provo). I bought my 8 from Legacy last March, they are a terrific dealership. I have to admit that I've never heard of Naylor Auto- they aren't even listed in my phone book. Are they a small brokerage perhaps?

I'd check it out but I'm about 35 miles away and probably couldn't get down that way for several weeks.

I am looking for a used 8... more specifically a 2005 white GT. I found a car listed on autotrader, and I really don't know much about Naylor Auto, Inc. except it is located in Provo.

Judging from the photos, Naylor looks like a used-car lot, but with a 91-year history they must be doing something right.

Beautiful car you've got your eye on there. White was one of my second choices if I didn't get silver.

If you buy it, PM me. Maybe I can pick you up at the airport and run you down to Provo.

Jethro- Thanks for the offer! I might take you up on that. If I do decide to purchase the car, I will be driving it down the I-15. Do you recommend any places along the way to stop?

For the rest of you Utah people --- I still need someone to check out the car so I don't end up flying up there and finding a big scratch down the side of the car or the clutch is messed up. I will give you like $50 to test drive the beauty

^You can drive home to SoCal from northern Ut in one looong day, but if you want to lay-over one night I'd suggest Cedar City, St. George, or Vegas. I'll do some research and see what sights there are to take-in if you want to do the turista thing. Most of the really good places (parks, etc.) are off the Interstate quite a ways.
I'll see if Mrs. Tull has other plans and if you don't get any other volunteers, maybe we'll drive down there this weekend.

BTW, I guess your old 8 wasn't deemed repairable, eh? You should keep that avatar photo even after you get your new 8, it's a classic.

I appreciate the help! My friend and I will probably stop in Vegas for a night. She's really into photography, so anywhere with lots of scenery would be great. Have you been to the Grafton ghost town next to Zion Canyon?

Yep, it was totaled. I will definitely keep the avatar for memories and such. Or just laughs.

Oh yeah, about 30 years ago! I've been all over this state, back in my free-wheelin' days.

I just asked Mrs. Tull if she wanted to drive to Provo on Saturday to test-drive an 8 for a fellow rotor-head from out-of-town; she was uncommital but didn't rule it out. Is the place open on Sundays?

OK, Sunday might be better if they are open. The weatherman is telling us that Saturday is going to bring rain. It's a 40-minute drive so I'd definitely accept your gas/flower money if I go, thanks!

If I can sneak out of the office early Friday that may be an option too, we'll see.

You may want to tell them that you are sending a representative to test-drive it. I'll take some 5W-20 just in case.

G2G for now, my daughter needs the computer.

I had a feeling they wouldn't be, that town is dominated by a religeous community and most businesses are closed on Sundays.

I'll try either tomorrow or Saturday. Have you spoken to a salesperson and let them know that you are interested in the car?

They know I am definitely interested in the car and & they know that you might stop by this weekend to check it out.

I will pay you $20 more if you bring a digital camera and take some extra pics for me. Especially of anything that is wrong with the car. Also, could you make note of how many miles it has (should be a little over 17000)? Thanks!!

No worries, I can get pics. I'll also check the tires- 17,000 miles means they're getting near the end of their tread life, especially if the car's been driven hard.

BTW, did you run the VIN through Carfax to see if there's a history?

ToothFairy, I went there today and checked-out the car. Took about 2 dozen photos. I'm going to PM you as soon as I post this, so check your messages.
