Oh, sorry this is off topic. Does anyone in NM have any RX-8 OEM 18" wheels for sale? Again I'm sorry to ask on this tread but I have been looking on Classifides and can't find any.
It's in the same parking lot as in years past, but the parking lot did grow a bit with the new construction. It's a little longer than before :-)

We always have room for help if you're interested... the normal events start at 7:00 and we get there close to 5:00 to start setting up. We can always use extra help :-D

Cool I should be there? Who do I ask for or just stand there and look like I'm lost? I will be the one in the white MX-5. I think my lovey wife is going out of town that weekend. Just think it's are anniversary too. So do the adults go out afterwards for some food and or beverages?

The times are posted @ the church's web site. I feel pretty good about my first run !! It placed me 9th fastest time over all !!! Considering that 5 of the other top 9 times are from people who regularly compete in SCCA Auto X's regularly that is not to bad!

That was a good run... It was to bad I was out of town (I could have beat your time).. LOL ... Lot of cars showed up. I will do my best to make it out to the Oct. run... Then I have to switch to my winter tires.

So who all thinks they can make it out to the next Auto X?

I am planning on attending it! With my lead foot in tow!!

Hey txag as for the track I loved it and I am not to sure if you can improve on it at all. It was tight and yet it had some open runs where you could build up some speed. That is if you want to call 27mph speed. It is probably the best track layout so far this year.

Hehe... I might try and see what I can come up with... I thought about seeing if there is something that could be done in that back corner which was closed off this last time due to that erosion problem, but that corner gets really dark, so I think we might just do something similar to last time. I'll have to toy around with it and see what I can do :-D

One thing that I was a little bummed about this last time was that the track was slower so we didn't get as many runs in as normally, but I think it still looked pretty cool.

Oh, BTW, I noticed on my drive into work today that there is a yellow RX-8 for sale at that used car lot at Lomas and Wyoming... The sticker on the windshield said $400/mo (no idea for how long)... will have to see how long the car sits there :-(

Well, today on my way to work I got a giant nail in the sidewall of my tire.. Discount tires has to order my tire for free replacement, so I have a loaner tire on now... Which is a 225 not a 245.. so my car pulls like a son of a B#$# and I might not get the new one before next race... ughh..... Enough to **** of the pope...

I just realized the other day that I have a wedding to attend on Oct. 7th (the evening of the auto-x)... my wife is an attendant so I'll be at that instead of the auto-x this month. Kind of bummed but oh well...

If anyone is interested in helping out this month with the auto-x, I can get you Dudley's contact info.

I'm gonna try to get over there. Should be back from Trinity site by then. (PS: it is open Saturday).

I've never raced anything so not sure if I'll compete at this point, but looking forward to checking it out.

Chakara, this really isn't a race. You drive the track at your own pace, by yourself, to see what kind of time you can run the course in. You are allowed one practice lap to see what the track layout is and then you run two laps for time. For the RX8's none of us ever get out of first gear, so you are never really going very fast. But you will certainly think otherwise while on the track.

NMOcho had the scanner connected for one of his runs and while I can't remember the speed, his highest RPM was around 7,000...in first gear of course.

Don't let the idea of competing with someone keep you from coming out...you really aren't competing with anyone except yourself. Hope to see you there!!

Yes.. I got my new tire... but it grips really well so wont get to slide around the corners as much.. but I can't wait to race... especially since I missed last months.

Kewl and Stinger are correct. I hit about 7000rpm's and about 27 or 29 mph... and no pressure to be crazy.. it's really about fun and enjoying the night.

be great for as many 8's to come out... come on Maddog... ready to hear some more stories of you getting the 8 some street respect...

Great time! Not only the racing but puting faces to all the guys around here. My times got better by a second or 2 on each run - ending around 48.xx - not bad for having never done anything like this before.

I hope to be able to put names with faces - I'm not real good at that so bear with me.

It was great meeting you & your wife as well Chakara!!! I am glad to see that you did make it out there and that you had fun! Good job on bringing down your lap times!

The same goes for you too Rx8member! Nice to see you out there as well!

It is a shame that this was the last church event for the year though. Just ad every one was starting to have all kinds of fun. Txag will have to keep us apprised of when & if the AutoX will return next year.

Once again it was great seeing and meeting all of you last night!!

Hey all, great time Saturday... Glad I pulled the best time of the 8's and compared to most cars of the night with a 47.55. I had to brag a little for all my hard work... LOL... I pulled 48.xx first two times if I didn't hit the two cones. But I think the 8's earned some respect Saturday.. all of us ran some great times.. Some of those racers have a couple thousand in suspension and years of racing.

It's a shame more 8's couldn't come out.. but we still had 5 show.. and if Will would have been there then 6..

Great meeting you Kyle... it is a bummer that this was the last one of the year... that means we have to all meet soon for another drive or hell even just for some drinks and food ...
