Hey, sorry for the slow response - just now saw your comment on my picture regarding the little black pieces from the console. Yes, it is the reason your compartment lid slides around, and unfortunately these little pieces are not available individually. You can buy a new console lid for I think $68 or so, or maybe score one on salvage for less. Really bad design on these pieces, but it is what it is.

hey! sorry for the late response, i have not been on here for a long time, i have drove my 8 in the winters, and MN and WI are especially notorious for very salty roads, it shouldnt rust very easy, mine rusted that bad because i bought it as a prior salvage title so it was a lil rusty in that spot from when i bought it, but i didnt care because i could easily fix it my self, SO i guess what im sayin is, the less you drive it the less rust, IF you do decide to buy one my best advice is go get that clear plastic bra stuff and put some of that stuff on where any rocks can chip paint (from your wheels or other cars in front of you) this should help protect a bunch, sorry if this confused you, any questions let me know and i can try to simplify better
