The 2004(S1 model) cup assembly is not even made for our cars and the overall design is poor. The pump itself is weak.
That all changed in 2009 (S2 model). The pump is now made by Denso, the cup assembly, fuel pressure regulator etc all changed for the better.
To install one is really easy. All you have to do is change out one electrical connector ( its the one that goes to the gas level sensor in the tank), cut the head off the venturi line that is inside the gas tank and then hook it up to the FP with a small piece of gas submersable rubber hose ( buy it at your local autoparts store) and secure it with worm clamps.
When you reinstall the pump you will need to rotate it just a little so that the top gas line will not be at an odd angle.
Thats all there is too it.
I havent had a single proglem with fuel starvation or anything since I did the swap.
Sorry for the multiple posting
