Your oil filter wrench fits the new smaller filter but

will I need another wrench to get the larger original filter off?

The factory filter is a bitch to get off. I think that they tightened it with an impact wrench. I have the scar on my knuckle to prove it. The wrench will work, but you need a 10" socket extention to reach it. Good luck.
