Dyno Results

Just got back from the dyno. Unfortunately, Scott wasn't able to make it out here this weekend, so he tried to help me as much as he could by phone. I've never tried to tune a car before, so I'm fairly certain that my numbers do not reflect the full potential of my car. Anyhow, I don't have a picture of my dyno graph to show, just numbers:

Max HP - 275
Max Torque - 236.1

Those numbers were in 4th gear at 12PSI (although the max HP number falls at 7000RPM, at which point my datalog says I was holding 8PSI). I'll be out of town for all of January, but I might have Scott come out in February and hit the dyno up again and see what more we can squeak out of it, especially considering what drifter_d saw after PFS got done with his.

I never got a complete pull in 5th gear, since I kept getting ping at around 7000 RPM. Weird things were going on with my timing (advancing when none of the data seemed to indicate that it should), so I decided to call it quits.

The numbers are pretty good, especially for tuning it yourself. I'm not sure why your pinging in 5th, was the boost load steady?

Scott: How much of an increase would the dyno show when doing a dynorun in 5th instead of 4th? Like Scud's 275hp in 4th, would that be around 285hp in 5th?

That's what the dyno guy said (the 285ish in 5th gear, if we had gotten far enough)

The boost was steady, it pinged a little in 4th, but I thought I'd worked it out, then it did it in fifth. You can see the weird ignition timing stuff in these two pictures. One is a 4th gear pull, and the other is a 5th gear pull.

*EDIT* - to get good resolution on those pictures, you really need to "Save as..." and open them up.

Scudrunner,
I think for a guy who has never tuned a car, let alone turbo rotary you did a great job! Go back to the data log and click on show text, this will allow me to view what the Interceptor was doing in responce to what the engine was doing in more detail. Also click on the air and water temp box's so I can see that data as well. I think Pur-Nrg coppied the data into note pad and it was very viewable.
