Cooling Fan Control Kit

Can someone enlighten me on how the Mazsport fan control kit modifies the following OEM fan control scheme? An email to them has gone unanswered for weeks. TIA

The fans turn on around 190 instead of 208 and do not turn off until it reaches 185

Thanks for the info. Have you observed this yourself, or is this what Mazsport says?

I wonder if they are using the thermoswitch (or modified thermoswitch) out of the FC. That engages the fans at 95C.

Piece a cake. Check out the Mazsport install video at:
http://www.mazsport.net/multimediacoolingfan.htm

I'll probably be getting one before I run my RX-8 at the track for the first time in late August.

Thinking about it. Its a fair price I guess. That is until the end of the month. I just don't want to order it now, and then wait till September until I get it.

Well, I did order a cooling kit. However, I just put my car up for sale so I won't be needing the kit (assuming I sell the car, of course). If the car sells, I will put the kit up for sale on the forum for a reasonable price.

I just installed the Mazsport fan control mod this past weekend. I don't think it is working correctly.
When i first installed it in the car it had only been turned off for an 45 minutes, with an air temp of about 79F. The engine was "warm" about a 1/4 way up the gauge. Then this morning i drove it and it was 69 degrees out. I followed the directions to a T in the DIY video.
In both occurrences the fans turn on when i put the key in ACC mode and also when i start the engine. The fans don't turn off until i take the key out of the ignition and wait about 5 to 10 seconds. I wouldn't think that the fans would turn on this morning considering that the engine coolant would be 69 degrees after an entire night of sitting in my driveway.

1. Is it not grounded good enough? i may have to take a wire brush to the factory grounding spot.
2. On the 2 relay's i noticed that the numbers were different even though on the video they said that the relays are exactly the same, do they really need to go in a specific order into slots 1 and 2
3. Could my kit be defective? I bought it from a respected forum member here. The kit came with all necessary pieced in original bag from mazsport.
4. Could i be fretting over nothing and for some rotary weirdness my engine coolant really be 190 degrees after an entire night of sitting in my driveway.

If the fans are on it is working. My fans also turn on first thing in the morning. And it is alright for the fan to run when you turn off the car sometimes it takes longer than other.

Hi guys ,
i had the same problemand spoke to mazsport about it. The problem i had is the fans always stayed on even when the car was cold. to get to point got through to them told them the problem and they sent me out another one, installed it worked perfect was a faulty unit. there service after a couple emails must admit was great, got my replacement within a week.

If the blower **** is on for your a/c and heat control then the fans will kick on and off during start up. But if you turn the **** to 0 then the fans stay off during warm up

Does the Access Port not turn your fans on earlier?

So does that render this useless? I'm assuming so because after I installed my AP I noticed my fan stays on for about 5 minutes after I turn the car off.

Yes. There is no need for the Mazsport Cooling Fan Upgrade kit with the Accessport.
