I will research if the powered seats will work in a car not originally with it, & let you know today. Mazda did offer the leather seats without the rear cover in that year. What the difference between them are, I will also have to research & get back to you. Thanks.

It is not a simple plug-in install. The harnesses are different.

I am not saying that it cannot be done. We have sold a few pairs of these seats to customers, & do not know what they do to power the driver's seat.

I have a few seat sets in stock presently. I even have a set from a vehicle with 5 miles (Still have plastic on them) but they will not be nearly as cheap as I can do on others.
