Remanufactured Rotary engines!!

5 Attachment(s)
Good news boys and girls. We are proud to announce reman engines starting as cheap as $2700 plus your core unit. They all have machined flat housings and are balanced and assembled by the owner of our establishment, Rick Engman who has over 30 years of rotary building experience. Most of you have already heard some of the story so I'll just summarize: He has probably built more championship winning rotaries than anyone on the planet and his engines have won their class at LeMans more than once.

So back to the topic at hand. We are offering the basic rebuilds starting at this price. There is a lot more we can offer but I'll cover that later.

Here is an example: This is a 4 port Renesis available TODAY.

LostAngel 11-28-2006 09:06 AM

Fantastic Paul!! This is definatly a great price...from a great company...rebuilt by a great engine builder.

maxxdamigz 11-28-2006 09:13 AM

This is a tease. I can't wait for additional details. Affordable replacement engines is key!

LostAngel 11-28-2006 09:24 AM

from what i've heard...you can get a very nicely done up engine from mazmart for around $8,000 - $9,000 if i remember correctly.

Mazmart 11-28-2006 09:24 AM

It's not always easy to keep pricing in this zone, even for stock rebuilds. It really depends on the condition of your core but we do the best we can.

The most tricked out NA Renesis could cost more than $6000 including a number of competiton parts like ceramic apex seals and a much more efficient water pump, extensive port work, balancing and blueprinting.

Engine dyno break-in is also available.

Paul.

swoope 11-28-2006 06:21 PM

lets hear about that h20 pump.... and once again great job guys..

We are working on an improved pump. We have built them for some in the RX8 racing community but have found a shortage of some integral parts. That being the case we are working on an infinitely better design. We are currently looking at the manufacturing costs.

It's not high tech like electric or anything, just a far superior design. More efficient.

Paul.

dannobre 11-28-2006 06:45 PM

Hey Paul

...would you guys think about offering an improved water pump assembly

I know there would be a lot of us track guys that would pop for that upgrade!

Dan

That's the plan. I will post more details as they become available. You will be quite pleased if things go as planned.

Paul.

Word by Feruary doesn't sound difficult. The finished product, that could be another story. I'll do my best.

How are conditions of the side seals in the cores you are receiving?

brillo 11-29-2006 10:34 AM

An engine rebuilt by Paul and Rick is worth an Extra $500 to me....

how are the sideseals holding up?

Appreciate that sir.

That's a good question. From what I recall from conversing with the man, they aren't in great shape, especially the springs. The side seal clearances tend to be excessive and Rick uses a competition version that is longer for the clearances he prefers.

Paul.

Just for the record, if brillo ever buys one of these, it's $2500 for him!

rotarygod 11-29-2006 11:34 AM

This is cool Paul. A rebuilt Renesis by Rick Engman is a dream come true at $2000. It's still hard to find used cores at that price and after you buy new seals and rebuild them it isn't even close. Then again, a newly built engine has perfect seals so it's ready for me to open it up, port it, and put it right back together again!

Mazmart 11-29-2006 12:08 PM

Fred,

I'm glad you likey. These, at this starting price use their share of used parts as is the case with those from Mazda but they are checked thoroughly and Rick's understanding of the criteria definitely exceeds that of the builders doing it for them in the USA. There are also things he does that don't get done practically anywhere else.

Paul.

Like talk sweet to them and rub them intimately until they put out more!

Something like that. One of the things he does is: When he installs new bearings they are lapped in on his lathe with a special compound to break them in. It's rigged up to hold the rotor and spin it while the shaft is inserted.

Paul.

rotarygod 11-29-2006 12:31 PM

I've seen Paul Yaw do the same thing. He basically "trues" them so they are perfectly round. It doesn't seem to matter if there is any copper showing on the bearing or not as the bearings never actually touch. That's what the oil is for.

Yeah,

Paul Yaw is excellent. I sent a customer to him to do one of the modified Nikki carbs he used to offer and the guy is extremely satisfied.

Paul.

lone_wolf025 11-29-2006 06:42 PM

Wow...just wow....

On another note about 6k for a tricked out Renesis eh? I don't suppose you have the actual or approximate output numbers available?

Leo,

You know we'll treat you right. You've seen our operation first hand.

There are so many factors that go into the peak hp #s. There are race cars putting down 230 plus to the wheels with mostly stock Renesis motors (Ceramic seals, engine management, intake, exhaust). A car like that is too loud for the street but also has no port work. It's hard to say, we haven't done any tuning of the stock computers and probably won't be. I like both what Racing Beat is offering and is 'capable' of offering for tuning these beasts. Rick has been working with MOTEC stuff for the last 10 plus years exclusively so that's what we would use if we were 'breaking in' a motor on the engine dyno.

Paul.

brillo 11-29-2006 11:42 PM

Paul kissing the motor adds 10BHP :D:

Just remember that the more money you spend on an engine, the fewer horsepower you get for each dollar spent. The largest gains are the cheapest ones. The last few can get very expensive.

LostAngel 11-30-2006 06:14 AM

Damn you Paul!!! Damn you so much!!

I know if my engine ever does need a new transplant...that I will definatly be going to you guys for a new one. :)

crimson-rain 11-30-2006 07:09 AM

Well now. When I hit 100K miles on my 8, I know EXACTLY who to call. Heck, I may take a US tour just to get to that mark quicker!!!!

I don't know much about rotaries, just from what I've learned on this board, other rotary sites, and trying to learn my 8 in and out. But I've learned enough to know you guys are dang good at what you do. I'll be talkin with ya at 100K (and with my commute to work and back, that won't be too long from now).

Why are you focusing on 100,000? I'm setting at 82 right now, and 100 isn't too far down the pike. And she's purring like the day she was born.

I am living proof in the existence of God. Everything that I am passionate about I am blessed to be associated with including wonderful friends. I am a very thankful man. If anyone here sees me with a big smile on my face for what appears to be no reason, now you know the reason. :)

Paul.

Jedi54 11-30-2006 11:49 AM

wow, great work Paul! Met you at SS9 and sure enough, you were smiling just looking at all those rotors. I'll definitely give you a call if I ever need mine rebuilt.

rotary crazy 11-30-2006 11:57 AM

Paul is always smiling, he really is a nice guy

Mazmart 11-30-2006 12:04 PM

Thanks a lot guys. It would be wrong of me to frown. Life is way too good. :)
