Experience with Diamond Plate Aluminum Floor Mats

Don't mean to bash a product that you're not selling, so consider this a cautionary tale that may or may not apply. Recently purchased a set of diamond plate mats from Evolution AutoDesign that claimed to designed for the RX-8. The description matches the version you're selling, but I can't say they have the same problems I've encountered. (http://www.evolution-autodesign.com/)

The set I received included what the company tells me are the wrong rear mats. They couldn't be installed without removing the seats, a serious problem.
The company has promised to send the correct rear mats, but I haven't heard from them in a couple of weeks since I complained. (We'll see.)

A more serious problem is the fact that the mats look great but lack a bit in functionality. Specifically, when my feet are wet (I live in Seattle, you do the math.) my foot repeatedly slips off the gas pedal. (Duh...I might have thought of this before I ordered them. My bad.)

So for show or in a drier climate they may work well. As for me, I'm replacing them for the rainy season.

Rainy Season? Being an ex-Vancouver(bc)ite, I know as well as you do, the rainy season is 11 months of the year :D

Back on topic.. can these be powder coated? I'd love to grab a set and get them black semi-glossed

heres the deal with the MAts..

I have seen them in the 8 yes they fit, All 4 of them.. Mine are a excat copy of the OEM carpet mats. You were not sold my mats from me.. so who knows what you got..

But they are designed to sit ontop of you OEM mats. you put them down with some velcro on the back and stick them right to your OEM carpet or rubber floor mat.
as for bing slippery.. well yes.. there Aluminum (sp) .

What are they for ? Mostly for show cars, and for non wet weather use..
in the wenter time cover them with the Rubber all wether OEM mazda MAts..

I sell those to

Thew,

As I said in my original post, I didn't intend to bash your product with my experience from another vendor. Although I haven't seen the product you're selling, your description suggests it's a better design than the ones I purchased.

As for their utility in wet weather, well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that they're less functional than alternatives. It was my own fault for not considering the extent to which the slippery aluminum would be an annoying trait before I purchased them.

In short, no offense intended. I have to admit that the mats look great in my car. I don't care what my wife says.
