Autopower Bolt-in rollbar, race version, with removable bars (renders back seat usable again for cargo during non-race season. i welded the mounting nuts to the mounting plates to enable one-person install and removal (otherwise, you pretty much need one person in the car and one outside the car.) All hardware included.

i'm including a fully charged and mounted fire extinguisher in the sale.

This is a NASA and SCCA compliant setup. it has the inspection holes already drilled.

Local pick-up only near 22310.

How small are the mounting plates / number of bolts? Any pictures of it installed? Your personal impression(s)?

Way back when, there was a Mustang that suffered catastrophic failure while running an Autopower bolt in 4-pt w/o a diagonal and with a removable harness bar. Attachment points blew through the body. There's more that a few big ole convo's on 'pro-touring.com' and 'Jalopnik' regarding this specific event and product.

My view on the subject may be dated but I was under the impression that 'bolt-in' roll bars of any manufacturer were not up to code for sanctioned events because they have a much greater potential to fail under stress as opposed to something custom built with proper attention and care. If it were me, I'd probably include some safety literature on 'bolt-in' cages for interested parties. And the inclusion of a recently serviced fire extinguisher is very kind. GLWS!

pics added.

different application, not sure if folks verified that person's (mustang) installation. that said, there may be 0.1% of accidents where you need a full cage to survive without injury. if you are very risk adverse, get a full cage, or stick to sim racing. i did time trials for years with zero bar. i only added a bar because it was required for hillclimbs.

the main hoop attachment points on this design put the feet as close to the floor/door channel as possible, where the metal is thicker and there's a vertical surface nearby. The rear bars bolt to rather thin wheel arch metal. The bar itself fits extremely close to the roof which maximizes effectiveness and the hoop sits far enough back to make street driving a non-concern (head contact). The feet area and number of bolts all meet racing specifications.

Bolt in bars are legal for all the motorsports bodies i know of. some folks like bolt in bars because you aren't relying on weld qualify for attachment to the body, and you're not heat treating those spots and not making them brittle from weld heat, and if you crash, it's easy to swap the bar to a new car versus writing it off. but to each their own.
