Where would you take your car for trany and diff change?

Any recommendations in the central Houston area for a place to do a trany and diff fluid change? I'm tired of the heat just after doing my exhaust work.

I'm going to Pro Am to have them do it. I might do that this weekend also.

I tried at Jiffy lube today. It took me a while to convince them to work on my "new" car. They really didn't like the idea of swapping the fluids.

Eventually they got started, but they claimed they couldn't pour in the fluids since all they had was a funnel.

They were going to charge $50 (I provide the fluids). The dealership wants to charge $80.

really? They do all kinds of work, I'm surprised they said that. Maybe a dedicated tranny place then?

I posted about ProAm and they do just sell Red Line and Royal Purple. After buying it there I had it installed at my dealer for $45. Very happy with the Red Line.

My dealer said they would do it for "their" customers. So call first. It was Gullo in Conroe.

Yeah, its a much smoother shifting. You guys all need to do this, makes the 1st to secnd shift so much smoother, much easier to drive the car hard now. Well worth the money. Cost me about $120 for the labor and the stuff. You could do it yourself for less.

Thank you for your info guys. I might bring mine to the shop as well. I would like to do it for myself but I don't have place or tools to do it.
Thank you.

Note that the capacity's listed there are not quite right, they don't include another 1.5qt or so for the tranny that sits in a different area (can't remember where). It took about 6qts total to fill the tranny and diff. The fluid is about $11.95qt, so keep that in mind when figuring out your cost and amount of fluid.
