There are two tracks in south Texas.
1) MSR-Houston is a new track southwest of Houston. They probably have HPE events.
You can also join for many $$$.
2) Texas World Speedway in College Station has HPE events almost monthly.
Check their websites for more information.

I was about to post this same question and it's unbelievable there are no closer tracks here....REAL tracks not the drag type or oval type (yikes!)
I guess I'll miss Laguna Seca, Infineon and Thunderhill that were all within a short drive from where I used to live.
Not even AX parking lots? What do you guys do for fun in a controlled environment (Time trials, HPDE) here in Austin?

autocross at Verizon, drift in mineral wells, or take your chances on lime creek and/or the hill country to name a few. There's supposedly a track going up in Leander, and another in Austin in the next couple o' years, we'll see though

thanks for responces, the one in houston seems kinda out of price range I could afford for now. one in college station looks like best bet so far but kinda a long drive so wouldnt be able to go too often, but it would work alright I think... any other tracks? thanks

they setup autox tracks here in San Antonio...been to 1 or 2....other than that i've been to the college station track once....it was a blast went with an s2000 group....suprised at how much quicker those cars are over ours......
Hey if we can get like 4-5 people interested we should start our own club for the local AX events

BTW, S2000 are quick but not much quicker.... our RX8 goes head to head with these cars easily...

I don't know....on the AX course I can usually stay +/- 2 seconds with most spoons...but on a longer course I can't use the twisties to catch up with these guys, therefore every lap sees like a 3 second advantage for them...which really adds up...then again im not nearly as good as most so mehhh
