Dude, you are like a genius, that name rocks.

As a side note, Two Rotars, Three Sisters is an awesome slogan, or even vice versa....

My wife says we should hand out 8 ***** at the next event... lol

Well, the Tail of the Dragon is already taken so why not

the Head of the Dragon, with the Medina run being the tongue of the Dragon

Well the Head in Texas and the tail in NC..thats a big long Dragon!

I just am uploading the videos I took of the run to Youtube
will post links as soon as they are uploaded
There are about 30 of them. Some are when we stopped/ ate/ runs/ etc
I just got this camera and sometimes forgot that audio was also being recorded.

Will also post the pics but have to re size them first

Yeah I like the Texas 8 and then Two Rotors, 3 Sisters as the slogan........we can even do a certified sticker like the BOTD (dragon) does called the 3SIS Certified, haha.

Well should we do a vote or is everyone cool with that name?

Let us not be too narrow minded

In NC/Tennesse
the group is called BOTD
the place is called " Tail of the Dragon or just the Dragon
they have different "places" to visit

Deals Gap is the starting place of the tail of the dragon.

Note that its not the North Carolina this or that nor the Tennesse this or that
Its the BOTD, where anyone from anywhere can join
so let us not limit it to TEXAS...ie Texas 8

Let us be a bit more broad minded.
the 3 Sisters can be like the tail of the dragon

Texas 8 ..well a bit limited..but can be like the BOTD
or Texas 8 can be the groups name, ie ppl from Texas

Why not the BO3S?, Brotherhood of the 3 Sisters? Does not seem to sound as good as BOTD

Let us not rush into this..lets give it more thought.
What is the rush?
Next run is still months and months away!

There are 3 different "runs" ie roads.
1. The 3 Sisters
2. Medina to Kerrville run, ie Tongue on the Dragon, or 3 Sisters Tongue or 3 Sisters Hand
3. The back roads the Austin Group took to Leakey last year.

If we decided to call it the "Texas 8" I would not think that people from Texas would be the only ones that could join. The location just happens to be in Texas....Plus everyone will know where it is at right away

lets definitely not model this directly after BOTD...but also taking the Texas out of the name really isn't a bad idea jus depending on what you are shooting for cause there is no RX venue for the Gulf region so maybe something that could include the SW or Gulf might be considered

Well Texas 8 might sound good but it is limiting
Note the the Dragon does not refer to any one car model nor bike nor any one car club
yet is visited by so many different bikes/ bike groups/car clubs etc
BOTD is just one of many that "meet" there

You should see the number of bikers there. They even have a gas station that only bikers can buy gas
and of course many biker camping places. So it is not only for cars
So it is with the 3 Sisters at Kerrville

Also note that the place is really highway 129 but known as the Dragon

1. Group/car club name,
2. place, ie road name...are we all in agreement it is the 3 Sisters?
Note that this forum is the Gulf forum which includes other states besides Texas

I do have to agree Texas 8 sounds good but is that limited to
8 events in Texas?
or only 8 members in the club?
or 8 roads ?
see what I mean..to others who do not know about RX-8

Texas 8 Club ...that is a bit more informative.

Yes - Monarch Specialty - Arlington 817-265-4535 -

or if you only want a few you can do it yourself at zazzle.com

or if yoiu want screen print I have a place in Arlington for less than probably 10 per for one color, maybe two.

Volume will drive the price here.

There is a reason the TOTD is called what it is, is partially because the TOTD is in more than one state - it is in both NC an TN.

Texas is Texas by God, lets use the name. We are big enough to have one run called the Texas 8 because you can have 8 destinations and 3 different runs in one state on one weekend in one place. We don't have to share it with New Mexico or Oklahoma to make a run.

Dude, the 8 does not refer to the car - there are 8 towns listed.
The beauty of the name is that it means many things to many people it is both specific and general at the same time.

The Texas 8 name does not limit the event to only texas people. The location just happens to be in Texas so that is why it fits. If we want to get other states involved then it is just a matter of promoting it, which should not be that hard.

09, thanks for posting that. I had read the posts late last night on my phone but didn't feel like going into the full explanation from my cell and my home internet was down.

Basically all of the points 09 pointed out are why I picked The Texas 8. It has nothing (specifically) to do with the car (although it may hold a dearer place in our heart because of that), but rather, the path we took and the number of towns/poi's, which was a (loose) figure 8 and 8 towns/poi's. In this sense, you can easily say "Hey, we're going to go drive The Texas 8 this weekend, wanna come? And (ideally), they would know exactly what you are talking about.

You can then use the slogan to say what you want about the run. Ex, if you plan on changing it a little bit one time, you could say:

Rotors... deviating from the norm.

This would then carry the easy two meanings of both the engine and the path.
