Texas Region autocross at TMS infield road course, 10/15/06
Hey guys & gals,
If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to give autocrossing a try, here’s your chance! Texas Region SCCA is hosting an event this Sunday – that’s October 15th – at Texas Motor Speedway on the infield road course. That’s right, no rinky dink parking lots this time… the course will be laid out on the roughly 1.5-mile long infield section of the road course at Texas Motor Speedway! This is the 3rd annual road course event, and they’re always a lot of fun.
If you’re interested, click on the Texas Region link above for more info and links to online registration. I’ll be out there in my Nordic Green ’04 – look for my car (#75 B Stock) and the Lightning Yellow ’04 (#88) that belongs to a good friend of mine, and we’ll be more than happy to guide you through the event and show you the ropes.

1935 lbs. FTW!
Do you have to sign up for a Texas Region SCCA membership to do this? I haven't been to a SCCA event yet but this one sounds interesting.

I've done DE's in the 8 but never really an autocross (used to go twice a month in the old lexus and porsche). I've been wanting to get involved in the Dallas region since moving up here for school, but sadly organic exams pwn me the next day. I should probably play this one smart and head out to one that suits my schedule better.

1) Go to the Texas Region SCCA Solo website: http://www.autocross.com/texasregion/
2) Click on the link on the right that says "Registration Open" which will re-directed to the dlbracing.com website where you will need to create an account.
3) Once you have created a dlbracing.com account you can register and pay for the event online - highly recommended.
There, you can also view the calendar for upcoming events as well as view the entry list for each event.

Cosmos, no need to be an SCCA member to attend. Come on out if you can – the infield road course autocrosses are unique and a lot of fun. Jon and I will be there, and I’ve got a “special guest driver” up from Houston who’ll be co-driving my car – the one, the only, David Hedderick.
Michael, if you can’t make this weekend, there are a couple more good events coming up before the end of the season: Equipe Rapide has their season ending double-header at Mineral Wells on November 4-5th, and the North Texas S2000 Owner’s Club has their final ’06 event at Mineral Wells Airpark on Saturday, Nov 11th.

Better late than never... ;-)
Those of you who stayed home for this event were probably the smarter ones! It rained all day long, and the weather for our heat was just miserable. Still, a bad day racing is better than a good day at the office!
