So I had a run-in with a Titanium Gray...

I was driving home from school, and a Titanium Gray RX-8 pulled up next to me on the freeway. It was almost the same, except it had a sunroof and xenon headlamps. I tried giving him the wave, but he appeared to have sneered at me. I'm not mad, but please, whoever you are mystery dude, reveal thyself. :D

You know I've seen a few other 8s on the road and try to wave, but get ignored. Whats up with that.

It was around 9:00, on HWY 290 westbound. I had just gotten out of PDE. :o

That's my point. I try to wave at people in my area who have RX-8's, but they don't wave, or even look. I'm not mad; I can't control what people do. I would like a wave or a girl's phone number every now and then.

Nah, I'm kidding about the phone number thing. My girlfriend would totally kill me. :o

I always wave, but I rarely see other 8s.

Plus I'm going by them so fast, I can't tell if they wave back. :p

(mine is black, I rule the Gulf freeway, South Loop, and South Belt --- thanks Mr. Valentine!)

Haha. There's a lady who lives near me with the same color RX-8, and possibly model.

Everytime we see each other we wave. I've gotten the thumbs up from some guy in a black one on Katy Freeway. That was cool. I wonder if these people I wave at are registered on this forum?

I've seen a older guy in a black 8 trimed in Gold(looked nice & classy) a few weeks ago at a local convenience store. He looked like he was in upper 50's. Anyway, I pulled up next to him and tried to conversate and he just blew me off. He probably thought i was just some young punk who stole the car.

I always wave and get a wave or thumbs up back. Except for one lady that lives in Ponchatoula LA. She never blinked when I tried to wave at her. Probably for the better as you know what they say about women drivers! I mean, I don't personally say anything, unless there is a woman in the car that is swerving or running off of the road because she is on the cell phone or doing her makeup. But I guess guys are just as guilty of the phone thing.

Pulled up to one gentleman with a yellow 8 in a parking lot (not in my 8, in passenger seat of a friends car.) It was the first yellow 8 I had seen in person, and the owner just happened to be walking back to his car. I complimented his car, but he just gave me a dirty look! Sheesh!

On the other hand, I had a great conversation with another 8 owner in a Ti Gray at a stoplight...she mentioned she was a member of this board too!

I always try and flash my lights or something at other 8s--I don't get nearly the return as I did when I had my 3rd Gen. I think that is because the RX8 isn't as much of a hardcore car, so you have alot of people that drive them that aren't enthusiast like we are I suppose.

It was me. I am going around putting fake tickets on other 8's at UH. J/K.

I will be on I-35 south today headed towards Austin, so if anyone see's a velocity red, it might be me.

I drive a Titanium Gray GT with spoiler, sunroof and "RX-8" third brakelight mod up and down 290 to downtown on occasion. Not usually at 9 at night though. I got off 290 in the Skinner to Cypress-Rosehill area.

I usually wave or flash my lights at other RX-8s, but don't get a lot of wave backs. That or I just go by so fast that I don't notice them.

I did pass a black 8 on I 10 about halfway between downtown and 610 around 1:45 pm the other day. I slowed down long enough to wave, but I guess with my tint and his tint we didn't see anything so I just took off.

I always goy looks and waves and now with all the mods and MS body kit I get even more... Everytime I take her out people at lights rol down their windows and start asking questions or wave with a thumbs up...

Anytime someone waves at me I wave back...

The other day I ran into one of our members driving a MS Miata and we pulled over and talked for about 15 minutes...

Okay. Who's the lady with the Ti Gray RX-8 I drove up next to on 290? Wanna reveal yourself? Stop copying me!

Good thing I can edit these things.

I also had a run-in with a Winning Blue RX-8 on I-45 at around 8:50 last night. Any idea who it was?

Oh yeah, I saw you again Soundwave3k. :D

I live in an area SW of Fort Worth and the local Mazda dealership will usually take people for a test drive and they come by my area. I always wave or flash my lights to say,"Hi" . I have yet to get a wave back or anything from test drivers. I also flash others on the freeway and I understand if they don't catch me in time to flash back, it's happened to me a couple of times. Distractions like morning commute traffick from Los Collinas to Benbrook. I really hate it though when you know they see you and they snub you when you wave and just try to be friendly. It only takes a couple of seconds to wave back.

I was driving to Long John Silver, and I ran into a female driving a Sunlight Silver RX-8 with the appearance package. I tried waving to get her attention, but she either didn't see me, or she was just a punk bitch. I think it was the latter, because she tried speeding off. Luckily, I know how to play catch-up and I riced past her. To the girl with the Sunlight Silver RX-8 who lives in northwest Houston:

ALL YOUR BASE BELONGS TO THE RX-8 CLUB

Oh yeah, I had a run-in with some dude in a black RX-8 in IH-10. I had some fun with him dropping gears and moving as much 12 115 mph, until I ran into some traffic. :D

To the guy in the black RX-8, you rock.

I got behind an RX-8 on the tollway extension in Frisco a few weeks ago. Waved when we stopped at the red light, I thought he saw me. No response. I got beside him at speed, honked, waved. No response.

Lots of people in the Plano area have RX-8's now, most of them don't wave.

I pulled in for gas last week and a guy with a black 8 was there getting air in his tires. I pulled up beside him, waited to wave. He did not look up. I went for gas, waited to wave when he drove by. He didn't look up.

I got gas up in Pilot Point. Went in for a soda, watched the local cops case my car. That was funny. Had 2 bikers ask about it there too. People are a lot less inhibited out in the sticks.

Same day, on the way home in Plano I got beside a punk kid in a gray RX-8 w/Univ plate frame. At speed, side-by-side through several lights. No response.

I think it's good, although a tad annoying, that (non-responsive) mass-production mentality people are buying RX8's. Maybe Mazda will keep the rotary in production.

If I see you, I will always flash my lights at you. If I've already seen you, then you know me. You don't happen to be the guy in the yellow I ran down at 24hr fitness? Or maybe the guy who works for Raytheon? Or maybe that other guy I see in the yellow all the time? :b

LOL... my husband was ribbing me because I wave at other RX8s, glad to see it's common practice. So far I'm running about a 25% return on wave investment.

HEy, 25% is a lot better than you can get at the bank.

abbid would love this.

I was filling up today and a nurse's aid (I can tell because of the uniform) pulled up next to my car with a very red RX-8. We both smiled at each other. That's the kind of reaction I want to get from other RX-8 owners.

I was driving home on IH-45 and I got in front of some kid in a V-Red RX-8. I tried slowing down as I switched lanes to wave at him, but he just sped off. What an ugly, punkass bitch! Teh RX-8 Club knows about you ungrateful turd!
