LOL...how did I cheat???

dazygirl415 04-21-2005 06:06 PM

Well, I guess you didn't cheat. I'd install mine if I HAD A CAR TO INSTALL IT IN!

Sorry, I'm a little perturbed right now.

jenkins-crew 04-21-2005 06:14 PM

I know.

Let me know if I can do anything!!!!!!!!!

dazygirl415 04-25-2005 09:47 PM

So Jenkins installed mine on Friday, 10 min flat, and it was great! For two days. :( A spring came out and over the shifter causing me to lose 5th and 6th gears, and having to shift into 2nd before 1st, but Jenkins fixed it today and all is wonderful in short shifter land. I think this has only happened to one other member having the short shifter and both have been easily fixed. Highly recommend this to anyone thinking about it!!!

Glad I caould help. If anyone else in the area needs help let me know!

Ajax 04-25-2005 09:57 PM

what spring came out?

Gomez 04-25-2005 10:04 PM

The reverse lockout spring....

jenkins-crew 04-25-2005 10:11 PM

its the spring that makes the shift rod to go up and down. If you take out the shifter, it is held down by a retainer clip.

Ajax 04-25-2005 10:13 PM

hrmm...
mine still springs up and down but the travel doesnt seem nearly as far as it was with the old shifter.
Is that normal?

EDIT: as in the vertical travel.

Gomez 04-25-2005 10:26 PM

Yep. The vertical travel is what we're talking about. As long as you can't select reverse without pushing down on the shifter first, it's all okay.

Gomez.
