Checked my mail today, still no sign of it. I did buy it in SA, not Dallas though, not sure if that matters.

Got my letter today. And it was actually forwarded by the post office with one of those neat, little yellow stickers.

Also got the new issue of Car and Driver. Has info about the Mazdaspeed 3. Basically, it weighs 3100 lbs and make 264 hp! Enuff said. Now, if I can talk the wife into selling her truck....maybe we can take that money and put it towards the Speed 3 and she can drive the 8. Watcha think??

My car's in until the afternoon: front license plate mount (for court, need to get rid of the ticket), new brake pads and the recall. Good dealership here, I didn't need to bring the letter or anything.

just an FYI, the better dealerships are going to be packed with these recalls.
mine called me today to schedule an appointment for.. .the 27th! 21 days out! 3 weeks!
so if you've got your letter, make an appointment today to get this done because the proactive dealers will be calling every 8 owner they sold to to get them in there for this recall.

And 280 torque...that's the impressive part. 3100 is pretty porky for a FWD hatch, the 5th gen Civic hatchbacks weighed 2300 pounds in DX/VX trim.

Just got the call from the dealership. Everything checked out perfect. They're just upgrading me from S to T.

They're also replacing both my headlights because I had the wierd film in them. Sweet.

They might replace my homelink mirror, because it creaks and squeaks like a ****. Service Manager (the one who called me) is going to take a look at it and determine if they will replace it and then call me back.

They are gonna keep the car overnight because they had to order the headlights. So looks like I'll get my baby back tomorrow!!

Imagine that... I got my car back last Wednesday. They replaced my motor for the 2nd time (The last one made it about 4k) due to oil leakage. All is well now (except minor clutch issues). Oh well.

I still need to update my address with MNAO. I'll probably do that sometime next week and ask them to send me the recall notice if I'm eligible.

My engines running fine, and I really don't want this new flash... especically if this is the same crap flash they gave slim on his "test" car.

It is... I don't know if there were changes made before it was officially released, but that is it. It was designed to provide extra lubrication to the motor. (With the motor I had at the time) this caused me to lose a quart of oil every 250 miles. After the 2nd motor swap it is all good. I think the flash was right, it was just too late for that motor.

Did you ask them to take a look at the headlights, or did they take this upon themselves?

I asked them to, the nice part was they didn't give me any issues.

Well they're keeping my car for another day. He's replacing the fog lights as well as the homelink mirror. He's going to overnight the parts.

On the bright side, I did get a Maxima as a rental. I would have preferred the CX-7, but Hiley deals with the numerous car rental shops in the NRH area.

Well, I'm having my car towed to the dealership today at my expense because of the crank/won't start part of the recall. I called Mazda roadside assistance and they said that they wouldn't cover the towing because of the miles that I have on my car (approx 90k). I was like, I'm taking it in because it won't start which is part of the problem that is related to the recall. They will cover for the rental car, but won't cover for the towing, which doesn't make sense to me. I just wish I would have taken them up on the offer to buy back my car a couple of years ago.

Well, my rental is a black F150 single cab. So, basically the same gas mileage, just a little higher up now.

I have been getting 22 mpg, so no complaints here.

Great, now I need to get my clutch looked at and every Mazda dealership in the world is flooded with cars!!!!

Anyone take theirs in with an aftermarket cat/midpipe? I'm trying to decide if I want to bother with removing mine, since supposedly, part of the test is on the cat functionality. Or is there a more mod friendly shop? I was planning on going to Freeman (work at 635 & tollway so i am open to suggestions).

well. they didn't get my parts in because fedex is retarded, and I'm leaving for chicago tomorrow because my dad is having heart surgery on monday. horray.

Looks like I won't get my car until thursday when I fly back. I was really hoping to pick her up today so I could put in the garage and not have to worry about her. *sigh*
