Hey! I'm in the planning stages of getting a local OKC RX-8 'club' started. For anybody who is in the metro area, Bob Moore my dealer (and I'm sure quite a few others) has offered to sponsor a few get togethers for us as soon as we have a good size group.

I'd like to get E-mail address's of everyone who might be interested so we can get some conversation going, and set up a few meets. (PM them to me?) I'm also looking for somebody in the area who would be interested in helping with the planning, as I am in the USAF and don't always have tons of time. Not to mention I've never done anything like this before. However this is something I really want to do.

I think this will be a great way to get everyone together, who loves their 8' as much as I do. Meet some some good people, good conversations, and of course some fun drives! :D

 

do you have to have the car to join?? I don't have mine yet, but plan on getting one in Aug time frame.

 

Heck no! Although it would be a plus.. My main point is just to get fellow 8' owners/enthusists together for some good times. The more 8 owners the better!
Not a really a need to 'join' anything. I'm just bringing together a group of people. Hopefully this is something I can grow over time. Once we have enough folks I'd like to get it a bit more organized, but you have to start somewhere.

So, short answer to your question: No, you don't need the car. But an intrest in it is a must. And, planning to buy in the future is even better!

Just to keep everyone up to date.

I currently have 3 RX-8 owners interested (Not including myself), an RX-7 owner who'd like to tag along, and an Air Force member over in the desert who plans to by his upon his return this summer. I'd like to get a few more responses but am going to start planning a meet of some sort. E-mails going out as soon as I have details to all those who were interested.

To anyone else who is out there... drop me a PM! The more cars the better! Really looking forward to getting together with other 8' owners. Should be good times! :D

Please spread the word about the little get together this Saturday in OKC. It was kinda thrown together at the last moment with not much notice, but we'd all still like to see a few 8's show up so that we can drool all over 'em. :p

Yeah, you and me both. I really want to put somn' together.. But the response is very low.. 2 for sures and 2 possibles. I know there are more RX-8's here in the city. Maybe if we can get a few together we can do somn' this weekend if the weather holds out. This is a great car and I'd really like to put together a great local group of enthusists together.

Yes USAF_RX8 and I met up there.
