Congrats!

I know I've been driving my salesman nuts since I ordered mine.

Build date is supposed to be 'Soon in August'... whatever that means.

I was told I should see the car last week of Sept, or first week of October.

Velocity Red, 6mt, 6Disc CD, Rotary, Appearance, Nav, Rear Wing, Spare tire...

I still need to order my clear side markers, aluminum kick plates, and the fender strakes... Was debating on the aluminum gas cap, but I don't know if that would look bad.

Where are you at?

I had to do some driving before I could find the right 8.
First I was told: "You can't test drive any, unless you sign to buy it."

I moved on to the next dealer, they were kind enough to let me test drive one. I fell in love. Asked them when they would get the trim and color I was looking for: "First half of September" they told me (a week ago..)

I kept looking on mazdausa.com for Dealer inventory...and guess what?...I found exactly what I was looking for some 12 miles away from my area. I called them up, they had it. Dropped by and didn't even test drove it.

We signed the papers yesterday (took 7 days to get my car..)
My advise if you are still in the market: Look up dealer invenory nearby where you live...they might have exactly what you are looking for (inventory changes every couple days from what I could see.)

Good luck!

Good advice I've already been hammering the Mazdausa site for dealer inventory here in DFW....

I still haven't found one with all the options I'm looking for, so I ordered one. I keep looking, and querying my salesman, too.

Hmm, is the inventory search broken? No matter what I enter for my location (or dealer name), it says "no dealers found". Is the power out on their dealer database server?

Hmmm it's up now, and I plugged in my criteria and my car (my VIN) showed up (???). I sure hope that means it's "coming" to my dealer, not sitting on the lot there. Guess I need to make a phone call in the morning... Unfortunately, no other similar cars showed up within 150 miles. I think my car was the only red/ red/black with NAV on the list

I noticed that Mazda site abuses of Flash media. Therefore you get some weird errors from time to time, mostly (I think) depending on the traffic their site is having.

There is nothing like patience with that site.

I talked to a dealer today about a car listed at MazdaUSA.com that I was interested in and he said it hadn't even been built yet. Apparently Mazda puts the cars up in the inventory system as soon as they assign VINs.

That makes sense, jham. They track what dealer ordered what or is getting what by VIN, but the good thing from what I've been told is that when the VIN is assigned, the car is days away from being built, usually.

I keep cruising the Mazdausa website hoping to see the dealer with a Velocity Red that matches my specs.
