oil type in summer

I have read the thread on oil/premix
My question is since it gets so hot here in summer shouldn't we use a little thicker oil when it is 90 degrees plus. 5w20 is really thin and seems like the blistering heat would turn it into something like olive oil. What is spec for up north doesn't make sense here? Your help is appreciated. I am a new owner.

You should be fine with 5W20, I been running 5w20 royal purple all year round for about 2 years with no major problems related to oil.
