I ran over some dead deer remains a couple of days ago and it was fine till about 30 min later when the check engine light came on. Would anyone have a good guess what could of been affected? I looked under the car and from what I can see there's a cable hanging down but it doesn't look beat up from what I can see and it's still connected. It's a thick black cable with white connectors in the middle right in the middle of the car. It runs fine, I haven't noticed anything but like you guys said befroe it's the little things that mess up our cars.

There are a few connections under there that might have been affected.

oil pressure sensor, O2 sensor, numerous other connections.

Pull the code at autozone and see what it says.

I have a seperate icon for that but that was the first thing I checked just in case lol. I don't think there were any antlers. It looked like it was split in half and I ran over the stomach portion. It smelled so bad I think the hair and blood was getting cooked from my exhaust. Smelled like burning hair.

been there, done that. Pics were gross You can come by the house and I can check the code or go to autozone, etc. there are a few things that could have gotten snagged.

Getting the remains off of my car was a bitch, I had to go to a car wash, put my car on ramps, and spray the **** off with the high pressure.

Yeah I went to a carwash right after. The ones that spray underneath your car as you drive in but IDK if that did the trick. I don't have anything I can prop my car up with. Maybe I can drive one tire up the curb lol. It was mostly just a blood streak under my car. I didn't get a good look. I think some hair got stuck underneath too lol.

I doubt that did it, I was spraying directing on the guts from point blank range and I was still there forever trying to get it off. I have a very weak stomach, it was not fun at all but the smell was horrible, I had to get it off.

I was watching taboo the other day on national geographic I think. It followed the people that clean up crime scenes. One it showed was a guy had jumped in front of a train. The worker cleaned the underside of like 4 cars and you could see little pieces of clothes and blood everywhere.

Oh I thought you were gonna talk about freegans lol. Have you heard about those people? They're basically trash diggers but they're not poor. That was on Taboo too. They'll go to the trash cans behind a restaurant and find food in there or clothes by a clothing store etc. They showed this one couple digging out sealed meat behind this restaurant. I mean the meat looked fine and it was still sealed in the packaging but there's got to bea reason why they threw it away in the first place. They told they're family what they do and invited them over to have a "freegan meal" lol. The narrator was saying how they had to cook everything thoroughly to make sure all the germs and what not was destroyed lol. Anyway I thought you were gonna say some freegans found some road kill and brought it home to eat lol.

Well it looks like my tranni is going out (just in time for my engine rebuild). Last week I started grinding on high RPM shifts to 3rd, today had an issue where 4th and 5th felt a little "clunky" and the tranni refused to down shift in to 3rd (and yes I rev match my downshifts). All of these issues are high RPM related and so far everything works pretty well during casual driving. I am assuming this is a syncro issue with 3rd (had another tranni replaced under warranty 70k ago with 4th gear syncro failure)...ugh

Any thoughts/feedback

I would like to source a s2 tranni but am not confident I can find one. I guess the question is should I rebuild this one or source a replacement?

Gears 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 grind in high rpms, 4,5,6 grind with quick shifts.

Until it melts itself together I consider it in perfect operating condition.

my thoughts exactly, my original timeline was engine idle failure, new timeline is when I am down to only 1st gear.

Try just changing the fluid, I was having a grind when downshifting before the turbo install. I changed the fluid (factory) and fixed a leaky NPS and the grinding went away.
