I do think that if you got a pros con list together, took it to your dad, he would be more understanding about your upgrades. If you really satdown with him and was mature and responsible he would allow you to change what you want. If my kids came to me with that much information and research I would help them.

Pros of midpipe:
sounds better, louder
small power increase

these would be his cons:
smells bad
its illegal (immediate killer)
dosnt need more power
sounds annoying
waste of money
gonna cause the car to break

pros of coilovers (in my mind):
looks better lowered
corners handles better
smoother ride

cons (in my dads eyes):
doesnt need better handling cornering; will just make you drive faster
car will scrape all over
way too expensive
will end up ruining something

and the final bang from my dad would be: "i am paying for the car its my car. Dont argue with me and thats final."

 

thanks for the advice, i wish i could do that but my brother tried it when he wanted to get coilovers and he gave the pros and it was always a no. never even considered it.

when i wanted to get subs he told me no like 10 times then finally said i could do it. then regretted it cause there is no room in the trunk anymore.

Ive been trying exhaust for a while and it never worked out. I made a deal with him and said that if i got an x score on the SAT he would let me get exhaust. I came up 20 points short and he didnt let me get it.

My point, was not to let him find the cons. You need to prove to him you are responsible.... As said get a job, pay for the car... Or list a real world pros and cons list. Dont list his opinions. If you really show him you are thinking things through he will be more willing to help. Your subs are the perfect example of how not to act mature. That is why you are trying to sell them now for a loss. You reinforced his lack in your opinion with that move. All you can do now is act more mature or wait till you move out!

lol except i paid over $1k for the subs. and i have recently started up a business so once it is running it will takre time but i will be getting money.

so i know you guys are going to laugh at me and say i told you so and blah blah after this:

so 5 hours, a brother, and 2 friends later i finally get the stock cat off. its about 830 now and i have to go home. so i dont have time to put the midpipe on. so i said **** it and decided just to run no pipes, didnt think it would sound like a 4 rotor. so i **** myself when i turned it on and didnt even break 3k on the way home it was so loud and scaring the **** out of me. so i pushed the car to the font of my house once i got on my street lol.

so know i was talking to my friend and i dont believe this but he said his dad told him if the cops catch you without pipes, they crush your car no joke. doubt it but is this true?

im going to finish the install tomorrow because i have to but i will have to go to school and baseball before i can do it so im a bit scared.

 

lol, they dont crush it, but yeah a friend of mine ran with just header for months and it was loud as ****..lol


oh a side note, something i've been considering for a while now i finally decided to do it, im selling my 8, moving up in the world! im like 99% sure I will sell it in a few months

 

yeah im really scared to drive it though lol. it **** myself when i gave it gas and broke 2.5k revs. i was in like 6th gear going 20 on my way home. how bad is it for the car to run with just headers? and will my car smell less shitty once i have the pipe on? cant imagine it being able to smell worse or the same with the pipe on, it must help a bit.
