Official Fall BBQ/Track day OKC - October 27 2007

Alright ladies and gentlemen,

Its that time again. We are having the Fall BBQ here in Oklahoma City. We will have the Sheriffs training grounds again like the spring Q. For those of you who did not attend you missed out big time.

When October 27, 2007. The location is at NE 36th and Air Depot in OKC. We will begin at 10AM and stop, well when we stop.

Cost will be $5 per person to eat and drink. I will post up if the track will cost or not by the end of the week. We are not looking to make any profit. We just want to cover expenses.

If you have any questions please email me at goldengroupinsurance@coxinet.net. I check my work emails more often.

Registration will be at www.rotaryrendezvous.com.

Can someone please sticky this.

w0rm 09-04-2007 05:40 PM

Bump for a good deal.

Mods can we get this stickied as this will be the new Quad State rotary BBQ?

Rotary Inspired 09-05-2007 01:33 PM

Yes this is the quad state BBQ. we need some folks to show up w/ 8's.

Marquis 09-05-2007 03:57 PM

I will be there but it would be really nice if the website was updated. Registering reads for last years event and all the information is from the spring event.

Rotary Inspired 09-06-2007 12:35 AM

It will be updated shortly. I don't have control over that part. Thank you for the info.

cks796 09-06-2007 12:24 PM

I'll bring either the 8 or my 1968 Ford Mustang 302 Boss Fastback...

Havn't decided yet :)

Rotary Inspired 09-06-2007 03:28 PM

8 would be better as its a rotary function, but either are cool.

82BUCKET 09-08-2007 12:42 AM

Might consider going, back to back weekends off of work will be tough.

biggin55 09-09-2007 08:27 AM

I will be there with my 8!!

Galen Darkmoon 09-09-2007 11:42 AM

Funds have been sent

biggin55 09-09-2007 02:31 PM

I just sent funds for me and my wife!! Cant wait for this guys, it's going to be so awesome

cks796 09-13-2007 12:33 PM

Where does thine send thine funds to?

Rotary Inspired 09-17-2007 12:51 AM

Good to hear let everyone know about it. Sorry I haven't been updating this much. I am trying to finish building my 7. Tuning it on the street now.

biggin55 09-17-2007 01:08 PM

Hey, I paid 30 for me and my wife, now it says its only 5 a person, is that what it really is?

Rotary Inspired 09-18-2007 08:57 PM

yeah we changed it up from the spring. Instead of 20 for track and 10 for food we are doing $5 for food and free track.

I know I know its too expensive, but I am working on it.

The paypal at rotaryinspired@sbcglobal.net should not be working. So make sure you get your money back.

We will just collect $5 per person at the door for food

If you have any questions call me (405)317-5095

Brad

Real bummer too, I was looking forward to this for months.

biggin55 10-21-2007 09:15 PM

well, I can't seem to find a helmet any where. Is there anyone who is going that would be willing to let me bum one, or share one, if you do, I'll pay your way into the BBQ

Rotary Inspired 10-22-2007 01:07 PM

If you haven't registered please do at rotaryrendezvous.com. Even if you are not totally sure I need you to register. I need to know cuz the gate to the track and Q will not remain open all day.

Anyone wanting to caravan from dallas?

CosmosMpower 10-23-2007 05:23 PM

I didn't see any info on the track events, is it an autocross, track day at hallet etc? What's the cost on the track event.

Rotary Inspired 10-23-2007 08:34 PM

Its the Sheriffs training grounds. It is just as the name sounds. Its just over a mile. We set it up so you can't exceed 110 or so in the straights. For safety reasons. Cost $5 you can use the track and eat lunch. You have to bring your own helmet.

Brad

Will there be a course set up with cones and timing etc or just a drag strip type deal?

BuLL 10-24-2007 04:51 PM

Yes, that's how it was last time. Stopwatch timed and one car on the track at a time.
Here is the track overview.

How strict is the helmet deal? Based on mods? I'd like to drive, but don't plan on pushing it that hard at all, plus the car is stock. Last time I only saw 1 or 2 helmets out of everyone.

Wow that looks like a real road course, any limit on runs? Can I bring the Miata instead?

biggin55 10-24-2007 06:36 PM

Yeah, how strict is the helmet rule I would prefer to not have to go out and buy one if I don't have to. Plus I'm not a huge fan of helmet hair

DrifterX 10-24-2007 08:21 PM

lol any autox or track you go to you have to have a helmet there is no way around that rule but i been there couple of time its a cool place to drive + a bbq you wont be sorry.

Rotary Inspired 10-24-2007 09:04 PM

We let the helmet rule slide last time. No can do this time. Sorry guys. If you are on the track you have to have a helmet. You can borrow one from someone if they dont mind.

Brad

biggin55 10-24-2007 09:04 PM

I know they do, but I was just hoping we might not have to. And I agree w/ you, the training ground is a great place to race, I've never really raced the whole track, so that will be different, but fun! I'm def looking forward to this weekend

Uncivilizedracer 10-25-2007 01:57 PM

if you can pull me out of my car, i might be willing to let you take a few runs in it. But good luck because i want to get some seat time this weekend.

agcutie03 10-26-2007 12:23 AM

I want my car there so I can drive it but I'm all about carpooling if someone wants to ride with me. I don't think my sister is going to come, so shot gun is open. It's all you Joseph! :)

Cool, let me see if I don't have anything else I'm obligated to and I'll IM or call you tonight. I REAAALLY just want to get some track time though, I have a few extra helmets I may be able to bring if I go.

agcutie03 10-26-2007 10:39 AM

Awesome because I do not have a helmet. So yeah, just let me know later tonight, we'll all plan something...I have all of your numbers, so I'll get it all together if I need to outside of the forum. :)

Rotary Inspired 10-30-2007 10:19 AM

I just wanted to tell everyone thank you for coming. We couldn't have done it w/o you guys. For those who stayed until 5 they got to watch me break a motor.
There are pictures and videos at rotaryrendezvous.com/forum and rx7club. I hope more of you are able to post pictures and vids as I didn't get any.

Thanks again.

Brad
