New rotary owner in San Antonio...

Hey everyone,
Well, I just purchased a used RX8 from carmax yesterday, and love it to death! To be honest, this is the nicest car I've owned to date, and it is fun as hell to drive. Just looking for fellow 8 owners out there, and if ya see a guy in ACUs while driving a Red RX8, either around Ft. Sam, or Medical Dr. its probably me!

Welcome!

Let me guess, $17,995?

I looked at several RX8's at the Callaghan CarMax a couple months ago so I am familiar with their pricing.

Welcome to the club.

naw, but close... $18,499 w/ 29k miles... I took one for a test drive last weekend while buying a CX-7 for my wife from Legend Mazda (on 35S, just north of the loop), and fell in love...

sadly, I was rather up-side-down on my mazda 3 still, and I really wanted one of these... it hurts every month, but my pain is eased when I mash the pedal and start flying :)

Ah.....I'd seen several at Car Max but not one that high......course they were mostly 04's and '05's. Did you get manual or Auto?

Was it the white one at Legend?

jlf12345 05-30-2008 06:00 PM

Red one @ Legend I think...

I got the stick... not only cause its better, but also cause its more fun to drive :D

czar 05-30-2008 06:05 PM

Grungepup 05-31-2008 03:45 PM

jlf12345 05-31-2008 05:02 PM

same here... sundays usually better then Saturdays, cause the wife cleans on Sundays and doesn't like me in the way (she says "I do it wrong" when I try and help).

If we have a GTG, you need to teach me how to do it the wrong way.

its pretty easy man... all ya gotta do, is get divorced, find yourself an OCD/anal-retentive woman, and get hitched...

down side is I'm a desk slob, and leave papers I want to keep all over the place, then randomly, they all disappear.... :(

jlf12345 06-01-2008 06:00 PM

well... did my first mod... and waxed the hell outta my car today.

So how does Sunday 6/8/08 sound? say around 8pm..... just need to agree on a place to meet, buffalo wild wings? a park? suggestions?

jlf12345 06-01-2008 09:02 PM

good date/time for me, I'll let everyone else choose a place, cause I'm not from around here :P

8 Maniac 06-01-2008 11:37 PM

I'd probably be up for it... might depend on area... if enough people are up for it, then I might drive a bit. I'm over by UTSA area.. how about others?

jlf12345 06-02-2008 05:07 AM

<--- medical + I10

8 Maniac 06-02-2008 10:59 AM

yeah, that's not too far. Anything further than downtown might be a bit much... If enough people go then I will probably.

Grungepup 06-02-2008 11:37 AM

Well there are several places up and down I-10, you got the fuddruckers in the colonade, chilis up past huebner, buffalo wild wings on dezavala, and various other places. I don't mind the drive as long as people show.

seatownracer 06-02-2008 11:41 AM

Congrats on the new car man, have fun with it!

jiggawha1 06-02-2008 12:29 PM

Yea I jus picked mine this week as well...I live around Bandera so anywhere around I-10 sounds good to me...any of yall ever go to the thursday meet at AMC theatre? I saw a couple rotary guys at the Biff Buzzby's meet on friday

8 Maniac 06-02-2008 10:51 PM

something like BWW or fudruckers works well. Agreed that I-10 is good.

jlf12345 06-03-2008 04:03 PM

either is good for me, so my guess is that we wanna make a new topic once we pick a place, and post the details there
