new to the rotary club =)
Hello everyone, i just recently traded in my slow corolla for an 05 rx-8.
It came with 18" staggered TSW Snettertons & a mazdaspeed fsb already installed. Did this belong to anyone on the forums? I hope she is good to me. I will baby her like I do all my cars.

thanks for the feedback guys. Yes i bought it at Gunn Honda.
I noticed the wheel gap in the rear as well. I'm guessing it's probably because I have 265/35/18 tires on the wheels. Stock is like 225/45 so it's 10mm less sidewall....?
Anyways, I've only had the car for a few weeks and i've already had to bring it back a couple of times. First time was for a broken clutch pedal bracket (a common problem i've seen on here) and the second time was for a rough idle & check engine light (flashing & then constantly on)
Now, I've been told that Mazda will be replacing the engine!!!!
Hopefully this next engine lasts & doesn't give me problems......

Yea, i've been lurking on the forums lately. haha
I plan on running Idemitsu premix along with changing out the oil religiously at 3k on the dot.
Hopefully they finish putting in the new engine soon! It's pretty boring driving around in an automatic honda accord. lol

I eventually would like a drop. lol
I lowered my corolla on tein H.techs and I liked the stance and the handling was much better. Only problem was that the ride suffered a lot.
I want to lower her an inch or so, but still retain the comfortable ride. Can anyone recommend a certain spring? Ive seen a lot of options out there..... eibachs, tein, rsr, h&r, etc.

I am actually on my second set of S Techs. The first set went about 80k but I actually damaged on of them so I got a whole new set from my Dad Last Christmas.

So I was tinkering with my car this past weekend and found out some good/bad news.
I found that the front has mazdaspeed coilovers, however the rear has stock coils.... wtf?
Also, the oil cooler backsplashes are missing. Should i get some asap, or should i just leave it??
Anyways, i figure from searching the forum that some have reported that the mazdaspeed coilovers are prone to breaking in the rear.... so the previous owner probably had to put the rear back to stock or used some random springs to fit. (that's why the back is so lifted. lol)
I can adjust the fronts now, but the dilemma i have now is whether to buy a new set of lowering springs..... or get some used oem ones for the back (gt). what do ya'll think?

You can get a good set of springs and shocks for around $700.00 or a set of reasonably decent (for street) coil overs for around the same price. Just depends on your money situation. If you don't drive hard and just cruise then I would pick up a set up slightly used stock spring and some decent drop springs for cheap.
Now if you really wanna be on the cheap you could buy used drop springs and slap two of them on the rear and then adjust the front to your liking.
But Ideally a set of Bilsteins HD's and some Tein S techs would get you right where you wanna be.
Oh, and your trunk seems off a bit by the picture. Check for the Mazda VIN sticker on the trunk. If it's missing then the car may have been in a rear end accident which may explain why the rear coil overs are missing.
