Neither wind, rain, cold, traffic, nor Election Day…

...Can keep the Houston RX-7 Club from being an incredible group of caring and compassionate people. Last night you proved once again how strong we are as a group and how important our local community is to each RX-7, RX-8 owner and family.

First and foremost I want to thank each and everyone of you for coming out, braving the “harsher” elements & traffic to support the club and our 2nd Annual Food/Needs drive for Casa de Esperanza de los Niños—the House of Hope for Children. Your response was overwhelming! Last night we actually doubled our donations from last year and in addition have $50 cash to contribute!!! We will be purchasing a $50 Kroger gift certificate for Casa to use, as it is where they do the bulk of their shopping. We thought this might be best since we have so many GREAT non-perishable items already, it will give them the opportunity to purchase meats or other items they may need.

Lori was in contact with Casa de Esperanza this morning and we are set to deliver the donations on Thursday, November 11th (Veteran’s Day) around 3:30-3:45pm. If you are interested in meeting up and going to Casa with us, please let us know. You can email at htxrx7@houston.rr.com or us or call (281) 989-1738. It would be wonderful to have members there, so you can experience first hand the appreciation and hope you are bringing to others through your generosity.

If you are interested in knowing more about Casa de Esperanza de los Niños, please visit: www.casahope.org there are several other opportunities on their volunteer “How you can help” page if you’re interested.

Finally, I would like to apologize for the lack of “good” parking last night. That was totally unexpected on our behalf and the management’s. Normally, the parking lot is quite empty & securing a row or two in a group isn’t a problem. We can only assume that election night threw things off a little. We appreciate your understanding.

We look forward to seeing you next month at Freebird’s. The “old school” group is quite excited to see what this meet will bring because it has historically been our largest turnout of the year. Is it possible we could bring out 40-50 people? Let’s try! It’s a great time of year to share with friends and Toys for Tots is an awesome charity to support. We look forward to seeing you there and personally wishing each of you a safe, happy & healthy holiday season!

Thank you again, for all you do and your continued support. 2005 is beginning to look very exciting as we plan events, changes, and more! January will bring a lot of excitement with a new name, logo, website, etc…the possibilities are endless. We look forward to your continued support and ideas as we continue to grow.

Keith W. Hanna

I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you again for the generous support offered at our last club meeting. Yesterday, Lori and I dropped off the donations to Casa de Esperanza de los Ninos around 4:15pm. They were very thankful for our donations and were extremely impressed that so many things, could come from a small group like ours. They were touched that we chose to support them again this year. We didn't take any pictures first because I forgot the camera and secondly because since we were the only ones going & Lori is a little camera shy, I just let it slip my mind. However, in a few weeks we should receive a nice thank you letter that Lori will frame and we'll bring to an upcoming meeting (most likely January). I'm sorry that no one could go with us, but I do understand hectic lives and schedules. Please know what a difference each of you has made and how thankful others are for your support.

See you in a few weeks at Freebird's for our 3rd Annual Toys for Tots Fundraiser!
