Install Party? Moore Oklahoma

Hey, was wondering if anyone would wanna help me try some stuff on the car maybe this weekend or next. I wanna put in the OEM iPod adapter, and I want to see if I can get my HID conversion kit from my old Mazda 3 to work in the 8, the lights are the same size. But the lights in the 8 are a pain in the arce. If you would be willing, I'll get beer and pizza. If you will help, just post a message on here, or give me a PM

I have experience pulling the HU out and could help with that install. I'm somewhat interested in swapping out some of my bulbs so I might come by to check that out.

when are you thinking about doing this?

I'm thinking next weekend, this one has ended up being busy for me....altho the next one isn't completely empty. Maybe next Sunday afternoon (the 18th). Assuming the weather is nice. And, if you really want to help, the dump dealership disconnected my power windows, locks, and air bag from the passenger side, so I need to redo all of that. Just let me know, I think it would be a fun time.

Lol, yeah that sounds great, I just got done washing my car, went back outside to finish detailing the engine bay, and a bird took aim on my driver door....so I guess I'm about to back and rewash the car....I was thinking about doing the iPod adapter today, but if you are up for next week, then I will wait, specially since that bolt looks like it isn't too fun. I have all the tools, except for I think I'm going to need a bigger extension, so if you could bring that next week, everything should go smooth...should

If you're still waiting till next weekend to install this, pm me your details and assuming we're not snowed in I'll be happy to help you tear apart your dash, but it really isnt as complicated as it sounds

If I can bum some lift time locally though I might be changing my diff/trans fluids / misc maintenance.

well...it looks like it wont be this weekend for the simple fact that my RX8 has been wrecked...it spun around and slammed a curb sideways at 50...both both the rims on the passenger side, deployed the air bags (side curtain only), bent the hell out of the rear sway, broke something in the front because the wheel wont turn, need a new front bumper, passenger headlight....and that is just what I could see....no telling what else

That's awful. Hope everything comes out OK- hitting a curb sideways at 50 means you're lucky it didn't roll!

Let us know how it goes.

yeah, I'm really lucky it didn't roll.......but, the good news is that I get to upgrade pretty much everything. Rear sway, springs(thinking about the S-Techs), shocks (Koni Adjustables I think) new front bumper(stock or Racing Beat) 19" ADR M-Sports, and a few other things I'm sure!

I would get all your suspension components and subframe checked. 50 MPH probably means damage to more than bolt on parts, I'm sure there's some potential frame damage involved.

yeah, I figure its a lot more than what meets the eye. I went back to where it is sitting and looked at it, it is bad, the rear passenger tire is sitting with a bunch of positive camber which is very not good, the sway bar is bent very very very badly, I tried to drive it about an inch forward and it didnt want to to go so I decided against forcing it to go. So I'm thinking its pretty bad....not looking forward to this repair bill....but I am looking forward to the upgrades!
