What did the dealership say they did?

Its exhibiting signs of engine failure that should be covered by waranty.

yup ^^ take it to a reputable dealership. The only one i personally know of is Hancock Mazda in Mesquite, TX. You may have others closer, i dont know. Do your research here by searching the forum based on the symptoms and go in armed with knowledge so they dont dick you around.

I bought my car at Hancock in Mesquite, and my sister came from two hours away to buy her 6 from them as well...I like them just fine, but they are kind of far away.
I've heard other people having bad experiences with the one in Richardson on 75/Beltline (name is slipping my mind right now), but I personally had a great experience with them as well. They bent over backwards to help me out and I recommend them as well.
My friend's uncle is the general manager at Freeman in Irving, so if you have any problems with any workers there in particular, let me know...I'll have him get all over it if you need me to.

o ya i hav a problem now with freeman there mechanics are retarded jerk offs i took my to my friends dad whos been a mechanic for 43 years so hes looking at and his friends in the back checking it out so he start hitting the gas to listen to the engine and the tailpipe is shooting out bbs because the catalytic converter is too hot because mazda only changed out one spark plug when they charged us for a whole set so the problem is too much gas is going to the engine and making it flood(which is y i thought it was stalling) so im deff not going back to mazda because thats like $1600 to $2000 for a new catalytic converter so im leaving my car with him saturday so he can take out all the spark plugs and look at them to see which ones they changed so he can go as a witness lol. so then i can go to mazda and let them now they screwed me over and ruined my catalytic converter with there hack job and put in a new catalytic converter for free and not let them charge or im takin to that guys place and get it put in for $300......

but second i goto the cars show in lewisville coppell irving and flower mound where r the other ones those r boring the cars are nothing special lol

Did they tell you why they were replacing that stuff?? What the actual problem with the car was? And are you over your warranty mileage?

That would be Town North... they use to be good, however, when they started calling me and asking me how to perform routine maintenance on an 8 that was brought into their shop, I figured it was time to find a new location.

The last two times I have had mine in, I went to Classic in Denton and they give pretty good service. One of the service guys there (name is slipping my mind), knows his stuff and will take care of you. The other might as well be an empty shell, but fortunately, he doesn't work on the cars.

town north sucks. they knew that when they sold me my car a year ago there was the emissions recall. been driving my car for a year now, my recall was changed last week. Very upset with town north... I thought i wouldnt even need to ask to do a reflash with a new car!

umm...

so anyway

Check your gas cap bigred, I got a CEL the other day because apparently two clicks wasn't enough. And the flashes aren't really a big deal if your car was running well in the first place.

Cat is covered by an extremely lengthy warranty. You aren't going to need to worry about replacement cost on it for a while.

Also you were seriously ripped off with that $1000 service.

fuel injection flush $98.25
replaced plugs and air filter $258.88
spark plug set $154.85
element air cleaner $47.50
ignition coil $212.99
plug wires $75.80

Fuel injector flush is worthless (better and cheaper ways to do it). Then they charged you $260 for "plugs and air filter"? Then another $155 for spark plugs again?!

They charged you $53 per ignition coil - most of us pay $28 for them.
