help a member out

Im about to do a tune up on my car.
nothing serious, just replacing the coils, wires, plugs and thinking of sea-foaming it too.

being my first rotary, i was wondering if someones willing to help me out with the process.
not in a hurry whenever someones available. i was thinking of doing a compression test before everything to see if my engine's even healthy before throwing in that little money.

anyone willing to help a member out?

There are loads of tutorials on here and on YouTube should you not find anyone local.

If youre going to get a comp' test done, id say it would be a good idea to take the plugs and leads and get them fitted at the same time.

plugs, wires and coils are very easy if you know how to use a wrench.

for the plugs, remove the FL wheel to access them. I would suggest a long extension with a wobble tip to get them out and make sure you have a spark plug socket.

as far as the coils go, if i remember correctly it will be much easier if you remove the strut tower bar and you might want to remove the intake tube to make it easier to access. a tip from experience is not to tighten the coils down too hard. it is very easy to snap the bolt off.

when putting the new wires in, just make sure you get all the coils going to the right plug. just remember how you take them apart

GL with the install. if you have any problems/questions there are pletnty of good write ups to help you along the way... just use the SEARCH bar ;)

well yea it wasnt for the difficulty level, but more of the fact that i ALWAYS find something thats not supposed to be where it is and this being a new thing for me i didnt get confused. anyways i couldnt wait till tomorrow, did it a tune-up (wires, plugs, coils) in about 2 slow hours. being lazy and cleaning throttle body and eventually the whole car. lol

here are some pics for those who care. i didnt really notice any performance differences but maybe in gas. RITE AFTER the job, i filled up the tank, averaged 17 mpgs. hopefully ill see 20s next time.
