Joe Myers eh?

ill hit them up next time. I got my RX back from Munday Mazda and they almost had me buy a rim from them for 500 bux.

story:
Mechanic: looks like you bent a rim, and busted a hub and bearing. we'll have to replace all.
Me: umm the rim is not damaged, there is no sign of impact or curb checks. Show me where the rim is bent
Mechanic: (with the car on first on the lift) Well look here the wheel wobbles
Me: Any chance its just the hub and wheel bearing that cause this wheel wobble?
Mechanic: NO no way.
Me: well just replace the hub and bearing. dont charge me the 500+ for the rim, DONT replace it.
Mechanic: well, you will have to get new tires too, both back ones.
Me: uhh just change the hub and bearing.

I go in today and turns out the wheel wobble is from the hub and bearing. I just asked him with a smile and he nodded and walked away.

bad experience. Joe Myers, I shall try next time.

I don't trust Munday Mazda. Also, if your hub was going bad than that brake pad might be uneven. Happened to me...

Don't know how good Clear lake Mazda is but one mechanic is Trey. He owns a RX-7 so should know a few things about our 8.
I have only used them once. For TBS work, ie emmisions recall, rear taillight fix, Flash, broken visor, etc.
Only thing I did not like was.
1. I go in and say I need them to check my car out.
2. they say, come next week, appointment is at 8am..
3. so i go next week at 8am. and they say
ok we need to keep the car to finish the work...
Took them about one week or so.
they say...need to get the parts, not in stock
Was offered a rental car but I already have a second car and don't drive ( ie I work from home/day trading) so don't need a car. Told them to just shuffle me home.

Work was done/ everything ok with me. I did not pay a cent. All under warranty.

One thing I did noticed was this. I asked parts department what was the cost of the smart key. Was told 285 or whatever. I ask, and how much to program? He says..I don't know you have to ask the other department, service. Heck don't they know whats going on?
They are located next to each other, seems if he did not know, he could have asked his co worker in the other department.

Only reason I went to Munday was cause the car was bought from there, thought I'd get better service, but they didnt even seem to care much.

I'll try Joe Myers next time.

P.S. there is an old couple with an rx8 im helping out with like taking it into the dealership for warranty work, service etc. Sometimes the old guy can't get out of bed, sometimes he is up and running fine (had a stroke so he is off and on). Can I take their rx8 in to the dealership to get warranty work done without them? they asked me once and I took the old lady also. Didnt wanna risk being denied cause the owners were not present.
