Tomorrow night should prove to be interesting. Maybe we will see the badgirl side of Dazy. As for today, I am soooo ready for this day to be over.

 

They are from the Hurst store. One is Gideon ***, I am not sure who the other guy he is bringing is though.

 

Hurst, that's where I got my car. I don't recognize the name Gideon... Oh well, I guess we'll see.

By the way, I learned this weekend that you can not watch anyone play unless you are involved in the game yourself. I just thought I would spread the word.
Everyone seen Ron White? He says "I got thrown out of a bar. When I say I got thrown out of a bar... I don't mean they asked me to leave, I said good bye to all my friends and gathered my things. They THREW me out of the bar". I was watching that Saturday Night and I swear it wasn't 3 hours later and a the cop had ahold of my throat and... Anyway, lesson learned.

Damn Slim, I've never been thrown out of a bar, I've been asked (told) to leave before, but never thrown out. I've have been maced by a FT.Worth police officer once though in Northside. Now that I think about it, I've been asked to leave Denny's once, Country Kitchen once, New Orlean's Nights twice, a couple of clubs in Arlington, and one night my buddies and I (we all worked security at a different club) got asked to leave 3 different clubs in Dallas. Oh I also had security come up to me once while I was at a WWE event at Reunion Arena because I was threatening to beat some guy up. Once the security guy put his hand on my shoulder, I turned around and told him,"Don't you ever f*cking touch me again!" The security guy left and the guy that I had a problem with, then decided to sit down. Oh, this was this one time I was at a Jimmy Buffett concert and some dude came walking through our area and kicked over my margarita, I tracked him down and his friends gave me $20 not to hit him. I wasn't gonna hit him, but I did want him to buy me another margarita.
Hey Slim look at it this way, you will have a story that you have GOT to share with the group on Tuesday! I will definitely be there to hear this one!

 

I don't know Nyt-Owl, your last post seems like a hard to beat story in itself.

 

Haha! Slim is probably feeling pretty good about himself now :D I frequented the bars on Hemphill in Ft. Worth when I was a kid. I guess they figured if you were brave enough to come in that they would let you. Fortunately I neven had any trouble. But a guy shot another guy in the bathroom (we didn't know where the shots came from at the time) and we crawled at a very high speed out the side door. There were two steps down to the parking lot so the first guys out the door (or at least a few people in front of me) kinda tumbled out and then everybody just kind of ended up in a pile for a moment. It's hard to believe how fast you can sober up on adrenaline

The poor guy in the bathroom got shot point blank from 2' with a 9mm in the face it turned out. That is the craziest exit I ever made from a bar. Getting asked to leave did happen a few times and everytime it was well deserved.

Yeah, there's a pretty good story to tell. I will tell you this now, there were NO threats, cursing or any other types of warnings. It just happened. Scalliwag, when you meet me you will see I'm not the size guy that just looks for some little punk to pick on... My name is Slim for a very good reason!

By the way... I picked up my new stick last night. I paid almost 2x what my last one cost so be warned :D I'm considering tying a string to my stick and my waist so I don't lose it. (Ok, that came out wrong, but I think you guys know what I mean)

 

Also, it seems I will be shifting the majority of my time to the other site. I have been promoted to Moderator. So, everyone feel free to sign up and spend some time over there too. Can't we all just get along?

 

Im not sure what that is about? I think something may have come across wrong. When I said you probably are feeling good about yourself, it was about what Owl had talked about. You were feeling down about getting kicked out of a bar and his stories made you good So I am not sure why you posted that.

I am trying to round up some of the other rotary guys I know. When the time change kicks in I will see if I can talk Scheepers into trailering the race car out. For now I will see if I can get him to drive the Maxton Rollerskate. You guys would love that

We usually have 7 or 8. Usually 5 or 6 cars. Something like that. Scalliwag, I just started to explain the story, but decided it would take too long to type. Bottom line is I ended up in a fight and got kicked out.

Anyway, I'll be there. I ended up bowling last night, so it may be a short night for me. Are we meeting at the usual time? I may show up a little early.

David and I are going to shoot for about 7:30. His brother Victor is coming out with us. He has a really nice RX-2 and a TurboII that is super sharp as well. But I think he is going to ride with us. Hell between him and David they have at least 8 rotary cars.
I am waiting for Ken to email me back on the longshot he can make it.

So where does everybody park?

 

We all park around back. There is plenty of parking, no one usually parks back there but the '8s... well, and a Ford Taurus, but that's another story. Plus it won't be there this week. Just pull around to the back door, usually I'm there around 7:30 - 7:45 and someone usually beats me.
