drinking beer and hanging out
I am a California boy who got stuck on the Honda's and now has an 8. But i have noticed that no one has a car club or hangs out and talks about cars and drinks beer like they do in California. Why is this? I have been to HIN and no major cars.
Been to Race Wars in Ennis and no Major groups. I would like to meet some people and hang out. Go for some drive time and learn some stuff about my 8 that i don't know about. Is there any one out there that would like to start some kinda meet group in the DFW area to have some fun and meet new people.
If a lot of people fill like i do this we should get a location set up and meet like once a month at a spot that is good for all.
Or maybe i have not looked hard enough and some one can tell me about a group in the DFW area

Bi-weekly in Addison we get together at BJ's Brewery. Here's the current thread for this week: https://www.rx8club.com/gulf-rx-8-forum-32/dfw-bjs-addison-8-24-06-7-30-45-pm-97034/
The DFW crew is probably more active than any other RX-8 group. It shouldn't be a problem at all finding some people to meet up with. You will hardly ever find any RX-8 people at racewars as that is an event for people who don't understand what corners are and the RX-8 is really good at them.
seeing the flipside of, i liked it better when car club owners didn't band together to create "car gangs" like in certain areas.
The DFW crew is very mature and loves their 8s. They meet up to actually work on their 8s instead of getting together to diss on other cars.
I miss you guys

I was not trying to say that there are no groups around i just never see them. In California we use to get together with other groups and have are own little car shows with trophys and stuff. The only ones i see that do that hear in Texas are all the old hot roders. Maybe some day i can make it to an event and meet some of you guys.
mini-truckers still do it too, just not as much anymore as the scene has changed from people doing things for the love of customizing to people doing things for attention and because they see it on tv everywhere. I miss the ol' days where clubs would host big *** shows/parties and people would geek on each other's rides etc etc, nowadays that kind of stuff never happens anymore
Have you seen the Quad State Rotary BBQ section?
