DFW - Flips Meet - Wednesday, June 24th

Its time for another DFW Flips meet. I know we typically try to do Tuesdays or Thursdays, but wanted to mix it up a little this time, just to see who's paying attention. Plus, I have a meeting on Thursday night and won't be able to go.

So here's the details:

Flips in Grapevine - 8:00 PM
415 W State Highway 114, Grapevine, TX
MAP

This is a full weeks notice, so you have no excuse for saying "I didn't hear about this." Also, let's try and get some more DFW people besides the regular group. I've seen a bunch of people posting that say they're in DFW, but we never see them at meets.

So who all is in??

1. KWarner04
2. Lord ET
3. cyclone1208
4. Riley Craven
5. fischer99
6. WTBRotary!
7. thejew89 (TBA)
8. Str8cold
9.
10.

In, though I dont think you are gonna get those "extra" people to come unless you specifically search for them in other sections of the forum and send them all PM's as you find them. It doesnt occur to some people that there are even local meets.

Yeah...I know what you mean. I think as I come across people in DFW that I don't recognize, I'll PM them. Everyone should do the same!

Awesome!! We'll be glad to have you. I live in Plano, real close to Frisco actually. If you want to meet up somewhere up there, you can follow me down. I know I had a little trouble getting down there the first time I went. If you're interested, shoot me an PM and I'll send you my number.

I'm all about seeing Transformers in IMAX...but opening day?!? I really don't want to go sit in line for 4 hours just so I can get a decent seat.

I'd say let's plan on doing Flips Wednesday around 8, and then if anyone wants to go, Transformers later that night (there's a 11:40 show). I'm trying to get some more DFW people to show up, so I'd rather keep it at Flips and then those that want to, go to the movie afterwards.

kWarner04 - will do. I was gonna use my nav, but since my discs are from 2002 it would probably just put my in the middle of the runway at DFW.

Yeah, def gonna have to agree with Kyle that trying to see blockbuster movies on opening day is not the wisest course of action.... Even waiting a couple weeks for some movies (like Star Trek) still means you have to get there 30-40 mins before showing to get decent seats.

The first time I went to flips I got so frustrated trying to get to it... I was coming from the 35W and missed the exit and turned around...that took me toward arlington...I turned around again and got on the freeway (should have stayed on the access road) and passed it up that way too. Eventually on my fourth try I just headed toward red robin and stayed on that service road and finally got there. That took me 15 minutes... yeesh. I think I would be down for going to a late showing of the movie... there are 2 theaters really close.

You'll have to pardon me if I don't listen to a word you say when it comes to movies.

Yes cuse not liking the same types of movies as you means I have never been to a theater before or been to a theater when they had a huge blockbuster (Batman 2 being a prime example) When that movie first came out the line was out the door for that movie an hour before it started at a local theater. So you'll pardon me if I think your doing anything more than being a punk.

Oh, and I won't be there. Either I'll have a softball game, or my brother, sis-in-law, and 2 nieces will be in town.
