DFW dyno day July 23rd

The DFW RX-7/RX-8 club is proud to announce a dyno day on July 23rd. We are going to be doing at Rotary Performance in Garland. http://www.rx7.com/
It is an excellent time to see just how much HP your RX is putting out, dial in that fuel and spark map, and hang out with a bunch of cool people.

We will have a registration page up soon. We are still working on a time and cost, but it should start around 10 am, and cost $25 for what I'll guess will be 2 or 3 pulls. We'll have more details as we get closer.

JC

I really REALLY want to do this, but I've already made plans to be out of town. Stinks because I'll have another engine mod by that time... and I want to support the cause. :D

I am very interested, especially if this is an event where I could get help tuning a CZ unit, is that what is mean by "dial in that fuel and spark map"?

I'd be interested in that. But as I have a stock, automatic RX8, that wouldn't be very exciting on the dyno. Instead, I might bring out the Pantera.

Stock (so far)

This sounds like a great opportunity to get a baseline dyno reading for my 8. No performance mods so far, but RB intake and exhaust may be soon, and I lust for a supercharger or turbo in the future.

I had a long and satisfying relationship with my 3rd gen 7 at Rotary Performance.

There will be lots of folks there that have experience with tuning that will be able to help you. Plus we will be at Rotary Performance.

The registartion is back up again if you tried to register in the last few days. $25 for 2 pulls. Unfortunatley their AFR sniffer is broke. We need a few volunteers to help us out with the food. RP is going to supply some hotdogs and beverages. So if you want to help email Tim at: tim@ugly.net or me at: jkrueger_485@yahoo.com. The day will start at 10am.

See ya all there,

JC

I signed up, didn't think I would be able to but the old plans fell through. I should have the new RAM intake installed by then and hopefully my CZ tuned. If I can get to 200WHP my modding days are over (until supercharger comes out).

We had a good turn out for our dyno day. I want to thank all that came out, both those that had their cars dynoed and those that watched. Also, a BIG thanks to Chris Ott and Rotary Performance for letting us use thier facilities.

Top HP "winner" was Micheal's 3rd gen with the Z06 motor at 355 RWHP, The RX-8's were pulling in around 180 RWHP, My 2nd gen was at 275 RWHP, with the other 3rd gens ranging from 240 -300 RWHP. The 1st gens ranged from 94 - 105 RWHP.

Here are some pics from the event.

You figure it out

SD-8 just curious if you figured out what the problem was with your car. Was it a spark problem as suggested by the others. I hope you figured it out and let me know what your dyno gets afterwards if you pull again. I guess I lucked out with the 183 hp stock; the other blue one got 180 I think just FYI.

I'll find out, I just ordered some new plugs from sparkplugs.com, I am putting them in as soon as I get them. Not sure when I'll do another dyno again though.
