Dallas Cannonball IV - 3/31/07

Dallas Cannonball IV 3/31/07

The cannonball is NOT A RACE, rather a social event that involves a spirited drive! you do not need a fast car, nor do you need to speed. The Cannonball concludes with a party at the end

Where: Meet at Rockies Sports Grill, at 8:00 PM (8600 N. MaCarthur)
(Rockies is just across the street from where we started the last Cannonball)

This cruise will be just a bit longer then runs in the past.

The cruise will once again end at the Londoner in Addison

This event is FREE

I will have T-Shirts, $20 if you order before the cannonball, $25 the night of. they look like the logo.

any questions, or if you would like to order a t-shirt email: texascanonball@hotmail.com

feel free to visit our website. www.texascannonball.com for pics other

Might wanna put a date on when this is happening -- I know its the 30th of march.

I might be there, and can for the love of GOD make it such that everyone leaves at the same time. The last two i went to kinda sucked because everyone left at a different time and went different routes.

Nice to hear from you again hollywood. I was just looking at the old cannonball site a few weeks back and was wondering about when there would be another cruise again, if any. Count me in when all of the specifics are figured out. I should have my straight pipes and flame throwers in by then.......

Either. I didn't make it to the last Dallas run and I was praying for either another Houston or Dallas cannonball.

if there is enough people in houston interested, we can set one up. but in the past houston people have been real bitchy about doing a cannonball.

Who has been bitchy about a Cannonball in Houston? I certainly hope that's not a reference to myself.

Last I heard you said the following about coming back ... "never doing one in Houston again"... sounds to me like you threw in the towel and gave up.

See link for context: http://texascannonball.com/modules/n...d=103&forum=16

You know I'm just messing with ya man, if you REALLY are serious i'll help out again. It did seem that you liked my suggestion for the destination location.

no it was not you, mostly people from other car clubs.
most of it was people dont want to drive from their neighborhood to the start. the last houston run went from the galeria area to galveston. So that made the turn out low.

If I were to do another one, Its going to be straight down 45, from the woodlands (nice sushi bar there) to Galveston. but to do that I would need someone down there who could help set it up.

it would go down to galveston, probably end at the belaniese room again.
if we did it though, I would need a couple people with pull all through the automotive community in the houston area to help spread it arround

I have accounts on a couple of the largest boards in town, namely HPD - Houston Performance Driving and H-I.com - Houston Imports.

We should be able to post on both sites, additionally I do have the email addresses of many of the car clubs in town if you wanna send an email to them trying to garner support.

well how many people would do a houston cannonball?
and when would be a good day? (I am thinking before laborday, maybe May 24)

I will also need people down there that can make the reservations, we will have to put up, banners, pas out flyers, sell t-shirts, and stickers.

I have connections in Galveston and throughout the auto industry. I would think that a nice mid May run would suit well, since there would not be much Summer traffic or holiday traffic yet. Also, we need to be careful about what communities we spread the word to in order to prevent any kind of over "joyed" people from causing an accident of any sort. I know people will want to flame me for saying that but it is the truth. I am all in. Let's get a head count so I can start making a few calls.

when you do something like this, you are going to atract all kinds of people thats just a given.
is there anything going on down there on may 24th? track events, drag racing, car shows, drifting, ect. that might get in the way?

Here is the website for Uni Sushi http://restauranteur.com/unisushi/ , one of the biggest drawbacks to starting the drive up there is the distance from town. Personally I don't believe Houston people aren't gonna drive out to The Woodlands to get a start on things.

IMO the starting spot needs to be a bit closer to the Beltway or Loop. Checking the date for conflicts now.

I agree. It wouldn't be a problem driving up there, but it should start closer to the city center
