Greetings,
Reguarding MM,
First thing is first, they have been in Houston for years and are considerd the "dealer alternative". Many issues that dealers work on wind up getting sent to MazMax when they can't figure out the problem... especially on RX'es. The service manager Bryan is a great guy, fellow RX-club member (and Vice Pres) and freind of mine. Bryan is also the owner of a FC and FD RX-7. Bryan is a straight-forward guy who will tell you what he thinks about your problem and is generally willing to go the extra-mile in my expreinces.
The techs there have years of rotary knowledge and a couple of the bad apples (mechanics) that have worked there in the past are gone. If your looking for a straight up install of a create motor, they are one of (if not your only) your best choices in Houston.
The only bad thing I can say about MM, is the price. It is a well known fact the owner (who is very concious of the day to day business) is not in the business to make freinds, he is there to make money. (A man after my own heart ... )
Replacement parts are cheaper than dealers, but not by much and used parts still carry a hefty price tag (about 50% of the new price) All in all they are going to be one of your best bets for non-performance repair and maintanence of your Mazda.
I hope this helps you out... (Keith)

I've only owned Mazdas and I am Maz Max Loyal--they were the only ones to work on my FD when I had it--they maintained my Millenias and my moms old 929 when she had it. They know their stuff. I highly recommend them. After the RX8 warranty is up they'll be working on that one too.

I'll second the "price" issue. After they quoted me $1000 for a USED set of Miata wheels, I bought them NEW for less than $800 shipped from Mazda Motorsports.
