Central Texas mailing list

At the Texas RX's meeting last night, I was somewhat surprised to find that they have no mailing list. I asked how they contact each other to organize impromptu drives and get-togethers, and the response was that most of them know each other's phone numbers and just call a couple of buddies if they feel the need for a cruise.

Well, I reckon there's room for something in between the immediacy of a phone call and the come-and-get-it non-push format of this forum, so I have taken the liberty of creating a Central Texas RX's group/mailing list on Yahoo Groups.

I don't anticipate it being particularly high-traffic, and this forum is probably still the best place for technical information and general chit-chat, but if you know of, or would like to know of, items of interest to fellow rotor-heads in and around Austin, you might like to join up.

This link will take you to the join-up page, if you're interested. Hope to see some familiar faces there soon.

Actually we do have a mailing list. Emails go out all the time for monthly meetings and rx7 fun runs.

email anthony@texasrxs.com to get on it.

Also, rx7club.com.

Go to the south forum from time to time to see any rotary related events in central texas. Those two locations, plus this gulf rx8 forum should keep us in pretty good contact

Cool, done, thanks. I prefer mailing lists to forums for things like spontaneous drives, etc. Email actively seeks out the folks who might be interested, while a forum posting relies on them logging in to check for anything new.

There are alot of people out there who don't have the time or interest to check in on a forum regularly. There is a significant amount of people in other groups who do come to meets and get-togethers regularly, who wouldn't know about them if it weren't for a little "heads-up" via email.

Notification email lists like that are still a very important tool.
